Quinta Palmares

Overview

Quinta Palmares offers beautiful views of the Sea of Cortez and Mexico’s only golf course designed by Gary Player. The course is exclusive to members and guests of properties within Puerta Cortés.

The property is located within the Puerta Cortés development, inside the private Las Colinas Hillside Residences community. Decorated with beautiful Mexican art, it features three bedrooms and three full bathrooms and accommodates up to eight guests.

The Space

Quinta Palmares is more than a traditional rental accommodation. Just a few steps away, guests will find the private Colinas pool, while Puerta Cortés Resort provides access to a beach club, El Cortés Golf Club, Espiritu Spa, marina services, and several dining options.

The Colinas pool is currently under maintenance and is expected to reopen during the third week of June.

Please note that access to the Puerto Beach Club requires a minimum food and beverage consumption of MXN $800 per adult and MXN $500 per teenager, per visit, in accordance with the Beach Club’s policies. This minimum applies to each visit, not to the entire stay.

Bedrooms

• Primary bedroom: This spacious room features a king-size bed, beautiful ocean and golf course views, a smart television, terrace access, and a private bathroom with a large walk-in closet.
• Second bedroom: Two queen-size beds and a dedicated workspace with a smart television provide a comfortable setup for home-office needs. The room has a full bathroom with two entrances: one from the bedroom and another from the hallway connecting to the social area.
• Third bedroom: A comfortable queen-size Murphy bed and a private full bathroom ensure a pleasant stay. This room also provides direct access to the inner patio, where guests will find a beautiful hammock for relaxing.

Social Area

The open living area includes comfortable seating, a smart television, a Bose Bluetooth speaker, and a bar for preparing and enjoying drinks. The fully equipped kitchen has bar stools for breakfast or casual meals.

It is an inviting place to unwind after a day at the beach, a round of golf, or an excursion to discover the many attractions La Paz has to offer.

Private Terrace

The large outdoor terrace is an ideal place to spend time at Quinta Palmares. Its covered veranda offers wonderful views of the golf course and the dramatic contrast between the desert and the ocean.

The exterior teak dining table seats six people comfortably, making it suitable for gatherings, alfresco dining, or enjoying the famous sunsets of La Paz. Two patio chairs provide a relaxing spot for morning coffee or reading. A small gas barbecue grill is also available.

The golf cart may be used only within the resort areas, including the beach club, marina, restaurants, and golf club.

Puerta Cortés Resort

Puerta Cortés is a premier resort destination in the La Paz area. Its world-class marina serves as a gateway to the Sea of Cortez, known as the “world’s aquarium” by renowned French marine biologist Jacques Cousteau.

The resort is secluded enough to offer peace and security while remaining close to La Paz. It combines desert landscapes, ocean activities, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Las Colinas Hillside Residences

Las Colinas Hillside Residences is a gated community located on a hillside with unobstructed ocean views. These Mexican country-style homes sit between holes 8 and 10 of a world-class golf course and provide direct access to Puerta Cortés Resort and its amenities by golf cart.

Guests can also enjoy the beautiful infinity pool, which offers stunning ocean views, as well as the barbecue garden area.

El Cortés Golf Club

Golf enthusiasts will find an exceptional experience at El Cortés Golf Club, the only Gary Player Signature course in Mexico and one of the finest courses in the La Paz area.

The course welcomes both experienced and novice players. Seventeen of its 18 holes offer views of the Sea of Cortez. Manicured fairways and greens are framed by desert and mountain landscapes on one side and turquoise water on the other.

Access to the golf course is subject to a green fee.

Blue Cortés Beach Club

After an adventurous day in La Paz, guests can swim in the large pool at Blue Cortés Beach Club while taking in the famous sunsets over La Paz Bay.

Enjoy a margarita or another preferred drink as the sun sets over the water. Blue Cortés offers a unique setting in the area.

Espiritu Spa

For a relaxing experience, visit Espiritu Spa. The spa offers a carefully curated selection of massages, healing treatments, facials, and wellness journeys.

Puerta Cortés offers several dining options:

• Beach Club: Casual food and drinks served throughout the day.
• Barco: International and Baja Med cuisine.
• Cardón: An elevated fine-dining experience by chef Enrique Valenzuela, located above El Cortés Golf Club. Guests can enjoy breathtaking views of La Paz Bay and innovative Mexican cuisine prepared with local ingredients.

La Paz Area

La Paz, the capital of Baja California Sur, offers a relaxed atmosphere, excellent food, desert and mountain landscapes, and beautiful beaches. The city’s waterfront Malecon includes more than six miles of bikeway along the shore.

Visitors can sample world-class cuisine, from gourmet restaurants to local fish and seafood tacos.

Visitors can explore the cathedral, main square, art museum, historic homes, and other notable buildings.

From January through April, guests can drive approximately two hours north to watch gray whales mate and give birth. With luck, visitors may even be able to touch them.

Getting Around

La Paz is approximately a two-hour drive north of Cabo San Lucas. Although it is close to popular destinations, its laid-back atmosphere feels like a world away.

Guests can fly to La Paz through Los Cabos Airport, which offers connections to destinations throughout Mexico, the United States, and Canada. Direct flights to La Paz from Southern California are also available through the Cross Border Xpress terminal at Tijuana’s binational airport, serving the San Diego area.

La Paz also has nonstop connections to major Mexican cities, including Guadalajara and Mexico City, as well as the largest urban areas in northwestern Mexico.

Quinta Palmares is approximately four miles from the city and is located inside a gated beach community. Public transportation and taxis are not readily available, and taxis and rideshare services must be called in advance.

Renting a car at the airport is highly recommended. Booking in advance is advisable, especially for exploring La Paz, nearby beaches such as Balandra, and towns including Todos Santos, Pescadero, El Triunfo, and La Ventana.

Guests who plan to stay within the resort and enjoy its amenities can manage their transportation needs with the six-passenger golf cart available for rent. Even with a car, the golf cart can be a more convenient, comfortable, and enjoyable way to travel within Puerta Cortés.
