At certain times during the day, construction workers may use the entrance gate to deliver materials, as there is no other way to access the apartment. This should cause minimal inconvenience. If needed, please contact Guardian Miguel.
Guest Access
Santa Cruz is accessible only by boat, either public or private, because there are no connecting roads. Boats operate regularly during the day and provide reliable transportation.
If you arrive by car, we recommend parking in Panajachel and taking a scenic boat trip to Santa Cruz across the lake.
Please provide your arrival time so our Guardian can meet you at the Santa Cruz dock. The Guardian will guide you to The White House along winding paths. Please take care during the walk, and bring a light if you arrive in the evening.
After the final bend, the blue bridge comes into view. This local landmark is followed by a black entrance gate on the left, with The White House behind it. A winding path leads through the expansive garden to the house, reminiscent of The Wizard of Oz.
The entire house is available for your use. The basement can only be accessed by the Guardian or housekeeper, and this is where the washing machine is located.

To Miguel being so helpful and to Manuela being very nice and cooking an amazing breakfast and dinner for us which I will definitely recommend to take advantage of because wow the meal was just amazing. I will definitely recommend this home.

This place is absolutely amazing—beautiful, peaceful, and exactly as pictured. The views are stunning, and waking up to birds chirping was such a delight. the mosquito nets over the bed made a big difference. Even though the pool wasn’t in condition to use, there was still so much to enjoy about the property. The home itself is one of the prettiest around and truly feels like a relaxing escape. Miguel was very helpful, and the hosts were easy to communicate with—I recommend booking with their preferred cook—she’s professional, kind, and impressive skills. One important tip: when arriving, make sure to mention the “White House” in the shared homes section. There’s another place with the same name, and we ended up taking a very strenuous and unnecessary climb because of the confusion. Also, in Santa Cruz, you’ll need to use a credit/debit card or local currency—U.S. dollars are generally not accepted except for tipping. Overall, an amazing stay. Highly recommend for a peaceful stay.

One of the most beautiful Airbnbs I've had the privilege to stay in, and for a very reasonable price! The garden and pool were stunning, the house was spacious, and everything was spotless. There is an optional cooking service which is very convenient. The location--Santa Cruz--is very peaceful and easily accessible via the public boats. Miguel, the groundskeeper, met us at the dock when we arrived and helped guide us to the house which made our arrival super easy! Monique and Shannon were very communicative hosts as well. If you're coming to Lake Atitlan, I highly recommend staying here and we will hopefully return at some point in the future!
