If you're looking for a luxury home, this is not the place. If you want an authentic Guanacaste experience in the heart of nature, with a very warm and welcoming host, don't hesitate to book with Jorge. We really enjoyed the pool and the private access to the river on the property, with a garden that he has lovingly maintained. Jorge invited us to a BBQ with his friends, during which we chatted using our very limited Spanish and will have great memories of it. A perfect place before flying from Liberia Airport. Highly recommended.

Beautiful property, very quiet and private. If you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this place is ideal—lots of nature, peace, and quiet. Don Jorge and his wife were very kind.

We rented the villa for two nights to enjoy the surroundings before we left. The directions provided by Jorge were very clear. The villa was in a good location (20 minutes from Rincón de la Vieja National Park and Liberia). There was a nice little path to go and see the river. The place was fine, despite the ants. Finally, Jorge brought us freshly picked tangerines from his garden; a lovely touch.

Not only were we met by a happy greeting and Jorge's wife showing us around the property but they were available to ask questions throughout our stay. A house with a spectacular property, having that pool with bathrooms and a ranch next door is a success and it even has a river, you don't need to leave the place to have a good time but there are still many incredible activities to do nearby.

Our stay at Villa Los Encinos was unbeatable! I traveled with my wife, my parents, and our dog, and the house was very comfortable and safe for everyone. We absolutely loved the pool, it was perfect for relaxing at the end of the day. The location is strategic for enjoying the best of the area. We were very close to Rincón de la Vieja National Park, La Leona Waterfall, Poza Los Coyotes, and the hot springs and mud baths. We even took a day trip to the beach, which is just a 40-minute drive away. It is the ideal place to combine mountain adventure and the sea. Highly recommended!

We stayed there for 5 nights with our two children aged 9 and 14. What we enjoyed: - in-person welcome by the owner, which was helpful. - the house is close to places to visit (Leona Fall, Ricon de la Vierja) - the property grounds are vast and beautiful. - a small path leads to the river and we saw monkeys, fruit trees, parrots. - the pool is very clean and the grounds are well maintained. - safe place (gate at the entrance and surrounded by a stone wall) - every evening we have dinner outside in peace. - the beds, floor, bathroom were clean and as shown in the photos. This is a good place to stay. However, you should not have luxury expectations. The roosters sing early, but it contributes to the charm of the place (remember to bring earplugs). Charming, rustic place.

We had relaxing days at the place, the boys loved the pool and the soccer field. We took an evening walk to the river. We were received in a very friendly manner and were able to enjoy our stay. Thank you for everything!
