The private two-bedroom home is located within a gated property with a shared central pool. Guests may also enjoy frequent visits from howler monkeys and occasional iguanas.

Shared Pool Area
The pool area is a peaceful oasis with southern views and overhanging palms. The pool deck includes space for lounging and cooking and is shared only with other guests staying on the property.
A trellis archway extends along the full length of the home’s entrance. During the green season, morning glories cover the driveway and welcome you inside.
Guests receive a private access code for the gates. The parking space in front of the house can accommodate one full-size car, sport utility vehicle, or equivalent.

El Castillo is part of La Caminata del Mono, located in the heart of Tamarindo. The area combines modern amenities, natural beauty, youthful energy, welcoming people, an inclusive community, walkability, and a pura vida atmosphere.

Parking is available underneath the property, in front of the downstairs glass doors. The pool is shared with guests staying in the casitas.
The downstairs area of El Castillo is not accessible to guests because it is used for storage and supplies.

Additional Information
Howler monkeys—and sometimes iguanas or other animals—often pass along the Monkey Walk leading to the property, which inspired its name. These animals are one of Costa Rica’s many attractions, and you may occasionally hear them outside the windows.
As in Tamarindo generally, various critters are part of everyday life. The area also experiences brief power outages on a regular basis.
Although Tamarindo is vibrant, quiet hours are observed from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. so neighbors can enjoy their rest.
A pack-and-play crib is available in storage. Please request it in advance so it can be prepared before check-in.
The entire property is gated, but the pool does not have a separate gate. Please use the pool with caution and read and follow the house rules regarding pool use.
Rooftop access to the main house is not available at this time. Do not attempt to access the roof.

The house was everything my friends and I could have wanted. Very walkable to the rest of tamarindo with great restaurants near by. Their property manager was very responsive and helped us set up transportation to and from the airport. We enjoyed our time here!

This is a lovely house with a great front porch overlooking the pool. It’s located behind a secured gate and a private walkway. Walking to town or the beach took just a few minutes and we were surprised on a couple mornings by the monkeys coming right through the property. We met some other lovely guests who were staying in the other units across the way and we ended up barbecuing and hanging out. Everyone had a wonderful time. The hosts were very responsive and did a great job communicating.

Very nice place a bit on the older side but a nice complex. You have the security of being gated with other shared property however parking can be somewhat tight . Overall a very nice place

Caroline, David and Yira were so accommodating with specific requests that we made and were excellent at responding. We stayed in the house and had an excellent experience and would definitely return. Loved everything about the place and can't say a bad word.

The location and house are great. So private yet so close to everything we were looking for. A/C was strong, pool was refreshing but the best part was our hosts, who went way beyond our expectations! I can’t say enough about these two. We had a tough break with the weather and Caroline and David did everything they could think of to make our experience enjoyable. Seriously saved our trip!
