This contemporary, comfortable, and eco-friendly home offers modern conveniences for a beach, surf, golf, fishing, or relaxation vacation with friends or family. Its elevated construction helps keep the house cool, while reforested teak furniture and thoughtful details add comfort throughout the stay.

The master bedroom includes a queen-size bed, comfortable linens, a closet, and an en-suite bathroom. The guest bedroom features two twin beds, comfortable linens, and a spacious closet. Air conditioning is available in both bedrooms and the living room.

A cozy nook just off the living room features a beautiful built-in daybed. The twin-size daybed can accommodate a fifth guest.

Laundry

The housekeeping staff handles laundry because they are the only people with access to the washer and dryer.

Power Outages

Occasional power outages are common in this area. The property has a battery backup system that powers most outlets, including the refrigerator and internet, as well as ceiling fans and lights.

The backup system does not power:

• Water heaters
• Laundry machines

Please limit the use of electrical items during an outage to conserve battery life. The system typically lasts approximately 4–6 hours, depending on usage.

The casita is located within the Hacienda Iguana development, known for its world-class surf breaks. Four surf breaks are within walking distance:

• Playa Colorado
• Panga Drops
• Los Perros
• Playa Amarillo, south of Playa Colorado and accessible on foot at low tide

Hacienda Iguana also features a beautifully designed and maintained 9-hole golf course, available to guests at an affordable rate.

Dining in Hacienda Iguana

There are six dining options within the community, all within walking distance. Two are located near the property.

• Pili's Kitchen: The only beachfront dining option, located at the Beach Club in front of the Colorado Break. It serves fresh food, juices, smoothies, and a full bar.
• The Salty Koala: Located in La Joya next to the Eco Casitas, offering Asian cuisine and craft cocktails.
• Casa Ananas: Located above the NSR office in the commercial zone. It serves authentic Italian cuisine, pizza, and daily international specials.
• Downtown Iguana: Located next to the office and surf shop, offering seafood and authentic Nicaraguan cuisine at reasonable prices.
• Scoops and Spokes: Located across from the office, serving homemade ice cream, coffee, baked goods, paninis, and fresh juices.
• Iguana Brewery: Located a few doors away, offering sports bar food and local craft beer.

Groceries and Supplies

The best place to purchase groceries is La Colonia in Rivas, located 100 meters south of the turnoff for Tola on the right, or west, side of the road.

While in Rivas, it is also recommended that you refuel, as these are the closest gas stations to the property.

Guests are encouraged to purchase as many groceries as possible for their entire stay. A meal plan and full-service catering option are also available for guests who prefer not to plan, shop, or prepare meals.

NSR Surf Shop is located within Hacienda Iguana and offers:

Getting Around

The property is approximately:

• 2–2.5 hours by car from Augusto C. Sandino International Airport in Managua
• 4 hours by car from Liberia Airport in Costa Rica

Most major car rental agencies operate at Managua Airport, and advance reservations are recommended.

A four-wheel-drive vehicle is generally only necessary for guests planning to visit beaches farther south, particularly in the San Juan del Sur area. Guests who prefer not to rent a vehicle can arrange airport transportation, daily sightseeing trips, and surf excursions.

Motorcycle and scooter rentals are available. Vehicle and boat transportation to other surf breaks in the area can also be arranged.

Alamo and National have an office next to Hacienda Iguana and offer another vehicle rental option.
