The space Nestled in the heart of Oaxaca’s historic center, Casa Nahual is more than a home it’s a curated awareness sanctuary that reflects the soul of the region through design, tradition, and calm. Inspired by the mythical figure of the Nahual the spiritual bridge between humans and nature every space invites transformation, rest, and reconnection.

With 7 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, the home is perfect for families or groups of up to 16 guests. Each room features artisan-made furniture, handwoven textiles, iconic black clay accents, and sculptural pottery that celebrate Oaxaca’s living heritage. Natural light, soft tones, and thoughtful textures create a sensory experience in every corner.

The rooftop terrace offers breathtaking mountain views and a space to unwind under sunsets, stars, and the moon complete with a wooden soaking tub, cactus garden, loungers, and a BBQ. A second terrace downstairs offers a peaceful corner for slow mornings or sunset conversations.

Though located just steps from Oaxaca’s most iconic markets, restaurants, and cultural landmarks, the home remains peaceful at night a rare balance between vibrancy and rest.

For maximum comfort throughout your stay, every bedroom is equipped with air conditioning, blackout curtains, hotel-quality mattresses, and premium linens to ensure a restful night's sleep.

The home is thoughtfully arranged across a ground floor and two additional levels. As you enter, you'll find a convenient half bathroom and a welcoming living room that leads to a traditional Oaxacan-style kitchen and a bright, open-concept dining area—perfect for gathering with family and friends or enjoying a personalized dining experience with a private chef.

The ground floor also features:

One bedroom with a king-size bed, workspace, baby crib, and private bathroom. Two additional bedrooms, each with a king-size bed, sharing a full bathroom.

The first floor offers the remaining four bedrooms: three with king-size beds and one with a queen-size bed. This level also includes two shared full bathrooms.

Just a few steps up, you'll discover a beautiful interior courtyard adorned with cacti and traditional Mexican plants. The centerpiece of this charming space is an impressive handcrafted Oaxacan clay mask, celebrating the region's rich artistic heritage.

Finally, on the second level, you'll find the home's spectacular rooftop, one of its most inviting spaces. Designed for relaxation and gathering, it features multiple seating areas, a comfortable outdoor lounge, sun loungers, a barbecue area, and a wooden soaking tub—the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere beneath Oaxaca's beautiful skies.

To help you prepare for your stay, we'd like to share a few important details about the property and its surroundings.

Rooftop Jacuzzi Experience ✨ ▸The tub on the terrace is designed as a space for rest and relaxation, it is not a pool or a jacuzzi. Since Oaxaca generally has warm weather, the heating system is not activated by default for every reservation.

If you would like the tub to have warmer water, we’re happy to turn on the heating system for you, this has an additional cost of $300 MXN per day and must be reserved for the full duration of the stay, as the system operates continuously once activated to maintain the ideal temperature. This approach is also part of our environmental awareness, as given the naturally warm climate in Oaxaca, heating the water is not always necessary.

If you'd like this service, please let us know in advance of your arrival so we can have everything ready for you. It’s important that the heating and filtration systems are not tampered with, as they are calibrated for optimal performance.

Environmental Awareness

In Oaxaca, water is a scarce and valuable resource, and we strive to use it responsibly. Below are some of the actions we take to promote water conservation:

We provide one towel per person as part of our effort to save water. We kindly ask all our guests to be mindful of their water consumption in showers and bathrooms. The water supply is delivered by trucks, which can create complications if the water runs out. If during your stay the water reserve runs out, please notify us immediately so we can arrange for a new water truck to be delivered as soon as possible. For longer stays, we may kindly request access to the property so our maintenance team can check the water reserve levels. This helps us ensure you won't run out of water during your stay. We truly appreciate your understanding and support with this quick preventive visit. Regarding showers, we've placed drain covers to prevent odors and the entry of insects. We ask that you remove the covers during your shower to ensure proper water drainage and replace them once you're done. This helps us keep the property clean and prevents flooding. We are also committed to responsible energy usage. To contribute to environmental preservation, please turn off lights, the TV, and air conditioning when not in use.

Traveling with a group

The property was thoughtfully designed for large groups, family gatherings, corporate retreats, wellness experiences, and friends traveling together while still allowing everyone to enjoy their own private space. We kindly ask all guests to be respectful of neighbors and the residential nature of the area.

Outdoor furniture & cushions

During rainy season, outdoor furniture is stored for protection, but you're welcome to set it out. To avoid damage or professional cleaning fees (MXN $3,000), please store the cushions properly after each use to protect them from rain or dirt.

Gardener

The plants throughout the house are not decorative accessories they are a living part of Casa Nahual’s atmosphere and aesthetic. To keep them healthy and beautiful for every guest, our team waters them every Tuesday and Thursday between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. You’ll always be notified in advance. Thank you for helping us care for this living design.

Cleaning service

Cleaning during your stay is available upon request for an additional fee, subject to staff availability and service hours.

Professional photoshoot

TO NOTICE: For a photoshoot there's a fee for $15,000MXN extra. If you want to make a videoclip, tell us more about it and we'll happily verify the specific rate for you.

City Infrastructure

Notice as with many major metropolitan cities around the world, occasional odors near drains or bathroom areas may rarely be noticeable, particularly during rainy season or while the city carries out maintenance on its public water and drainage systems.

These situations are uncommon, temporary, and originate from the city's infrastructure rather than the property itself. They typically dissipate quickly and do not impact the functionality, cleanliness, or overall comfort of the home.

Plumbing

To protect the home's plumbing system, please do not flush anything other than human waste. Please dispose of toilet paper, wipes (including flushable wipes), sanitary products, cotton swabs, paper towels, tissues, and any other objects in the trash bins provided.

• Close doors and windows when leaving the property. • Report any maintenance issue as soon as possible. • Towels & water care: We provide one towel per person per stay, we kindly ask you to be mindful of water usage. • Turn off lights, AC and appliances when not in use. • Treat the property as if it were your own home.

Photography and Property Condition

The photos shown in the listing were taken by a professional team and accurately represent the space. However, it’s important to note that, while we work hard to keep the property in excellent condition, some minor differences may appear due to natural wear and tear over time.

Occasionally, you may find minor damage caused by the use of previous guests, such as scratches, stains, or malfunctioning equipment. If this happens, we kindly ask you to inform us immediately so that we can address any issues promptly.
