The Space

The Island House is a distinctive modern tropical residence featuring a central island under a double-height ceiling, designed to fully embrace indoor-outdoor tropical living. Situated within the most exclusive gated community in the coastal area, this home offers a unique blend of comfort and nature.

This four-bedroom house accommodates up to 12 guests comfortably:

• Master bedroom: 1 king bed, private bathroom (2 guests)
• Second master bedroom: 1 king bed, private bathroom (2 guests)
• Guest bedroom: 1 queen bed (2 guests)
• Guest bedroom with bunk beds: 2 king beds below and 2 twin beds on top, private bathroom (6 guests)

The property includes a MistAway mosquito misting system that automatically sprays a fine mist of a mild botanical insecticide around the yard two or three times daily, effectively reducing mosquitoes and other insects.

Daily housekeeping services are provided Monday through Saturday, with schedules tailored to your group's preferences. Additional housekeeping or breakfast preparation can be arranged in advance.

Our team offers local expertise to help plan your ideal tropical experience, including in-house catering, sunset cruises, adventure tours, and recommendations for secluded beaches. Transportation to and from Liberia International Airport, San Jose International Airport, or rental car bookings can also be organized.

Hacienda Pinilla Beach Club

The Beach Club is situated on the shores of Playa Avellanas and features an infinity-edge pool overlooking the renowned surf break known as Little Hawaii. Amenities include:

Beaches

Hacienda Pinilla boasts three miles of coastline within its 4,500-acre ranch, offering numerous spots to explore:

• Playa Mansita & Bonita: Home to the JW Marriott hotel, ideal for beachcombing and tide pool exploration at low tide.
• Playa Langosta: Known for world-class surfing, beach activities, and river fishing. This shaded area with palapas is perfect for a relaxing beach day and is just a short walk and river crossing from Playa Langosta and Tamarindo.
• Playa Avellanas: Location of the Hacienda Pinilla Beach Club and six world-class surf breaks including Little Hawaii, the Estero, Dead Tree, and Lolas.

JW Marriott Hotel

Guests have access to the JW Marriott’s various restaurants. A day pass can be purchased to use the hotel’s pool, which is the largest in Central America, along with all hotel grounds and amenities.

Golf Course

An 18-hole par-72 beachfront golf course is available, featuring a stunning sunset view from the beachfront hole on a secluded beach.

Tennis Courts

There are three hard-court tennis courts with an onsite instructor offering private, semi-private, and group lessons. Regular activities include kids’ camps and pickleball events.

Horse Stables

Exploring the 4,500-acre ranch by horseback is a popular option. Customized tours range from 30 minutes to 2 hours, taking you through forest trails and along secluded beaches.

Mountain Bike Trails

With over 45 kilometers of trails across the ranch, forest, and coastline, Hacienda Pinilla provides scenic and challenging routes suitable for all skill levels, from beginners to experts.

Surfing

Hacienda Pinilla is an excellent base for surfing trips, featuring six waves at Playa Avellanas and private access to Playa Langosta’s beach breaks. Nearby surf spots include Playa Negra reef breaks (10 minutes south) and Tamarindo’s river mouth and beach breaks (10 minutes north).

Rates and Booking

Rates cover up to 10 guests. Additional charges apply for each guest beyond the 10th, up to the maximum occupancy of 12. Please include the total number of guests in your booking to receive an accurate quote.

Important Notes

The Island House is located in a private, gated community primarily inhabited by full-time residents and families. A strict noise policy is enforced between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. This property is not suitable for parties or large events. It is ideal for groups of adults and families who respect community rules and neighbors.

If you plan to host a large gathering, party, or cause excessive noise, please select a different property. Noise violations will result in immediate eviction without a refund.
