Casa Zen is just what we needed to end our Costa Rica stay. Overlooking the local jungle with views of the mountains and the sea, this is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the visit of capuchin monkeys, hummingbirds, bats, iguanas and hear howler monkeys in the distance! The sunsets from the balcony are also something special… Veronique is a great host, very communicative with great local recommendations (muelle del marisco was delicious!) and very friendly, makes you feel right at home. To get here you would need a 4wd, the road from the Playa Naranjo ferry is mostly paved by it turns into dirt road towards the end and there are a few steep inclines that would be challenging without, specially if it rains. The road from Puente Amistad vía National 160 is mostly dirt road, with 3-4 river crossings (with the car). This route definitely needs a 4wd but was super fun to do. Rivers appear low at this time of year. And the infinity pool…the perfect complement! Don’t miss it!

Zen Villa is stunning. Thoughtful, sustainable, comfortable and in conversation with its environment. It is surrounded by jungle, home to howler monkeys, iguanas, agouti, squirrels, parrots, turkey vultures, trogons, butterflies...the closest place to paradise we've ever stayed. It has views to the ocean, is a short walk to the beach, and has a perfect swimming pool with a pool house where breakfast is served. Vero is delightful and has considered everything. A 4WD is necessary. Don't hesitate to book.

Absolutely stunning place! Even better than the pictures! Really beautiful and calm environment. The road to the place can seem a bit challenging but it’s really worth it since the house is so close to nature. The house was equipped with everything you need and Veronique was a great host. Can’t wait to get back!

Calamocha Lodge was even more beautiful than we had hoped. You are in a beautiful house but almost in the jungle at the same time. Glorious views, a hummingbird in the corner of the lounge (!), beautiful shared pool, gorgeous breakfasts and a host who could not have been more helpful and responsive. A great stay, thank you Veronique.

Nice piece of property in the middle of the jungle. Make sure you drive a 4X4 , roads are in a poor bad quality, also it is important to consider there’s no a/c . The experience was nice, we like it. The manager always attentive. We appreciated it.

We would definitely go back. It was a very calm, comfortable, serene and quiet place. So far that's our nicest place. But the access is atrocious. The 'roads', bridges, river crossings, etc make this a challenge. Very indoor/outdoor. BEAUTIFUL jungle views. early am and evening. the Howler Monkeys @ 5:30 am were a bit startling. but hey - its the jungle. Veronique was kind enough to give us a nice tour. Be sure to ask for a long one, or short one. The pool was great. The kitchen well supplied with equipment. I could have done without the small animal poo (mice?) outside - but..... again, indoor outdoor living. I would definitely recommend this place, but don't plan on 'walking to town'. The road to Santa Theresa? had some awesome places to stop on empty beautiful beaches. The road IN Santa Theresa is laughable. Closest restaraunt was 'Atardecer Dorado' and was a decent authentic place.
