The Space

Casa 72 is a spacious, fully equipped house centrally located within walking distance to everything. Designed by a renowned architect in 1972, it features high ceilings, cross ventilation, abundant natural light, large stained glass windows, primary colors, and organic materials. This 20th-century architectural gem has been renovated to meet 21st-century standards and is managed by a friendly, experienced Super Host.

Since its renovation in 2013, Casa 72 has welcomed guests with five-star service. It is perfect for medium-length stays of one to two weeks but also accommodates shorter visits of two nights. The house comfortably serves couples or groups of up to twelve people, including families with children.

Architecture and Design

Bedrooms

All rooms are simple and practical, reflecting the house’s spirit. Each bedroom has air conditioning and a ceiling fan.

• Room 1: Most accessible, opposite bathroom 1; two beds, locker, closet, mini-split AC, ceiling fan, space for an extra bed
• Room 2: Largest room; queen bed, single bed, closet, mini-split AC, ceiling fan, wall phone charger, space for an extra bed
• Room 3: Most private, opposite bathroom 2; two beds, locker, closet, mini-split AC, ceiling fan, space for an extra bed
• Room 4: Most panoramic with a private balcony, near bathroom 3; two beds, locker, closet, mini-split AC, ceiling fan, space for an extra bed

Bathrooms

• Three full bathrooms shared among the bedrooms, plus a half bathroom on the first level near the outdoor dining area
• Showers provide hot water, towels, mats, and soap
• Outdoor shower located at the entrance near the wooden path
• Bathroom 3 on level 6 retains its original fiberglass design with both shower and bathtub

Water

• Drinking water in San Juan del Sur is potable
• Each reservation includes a 5-gallon bottled water container for guest convenience; additional water can be ordered via phone
• The house has an underground cistern and two surface water tanks, sufficient for two days of operation
• Guests are encouraged to use water responsibly due to its scarcity
• In case of extended water outages, guests will coordinate with the house manager

Pool

• The pool is a popular feature for both children and adults
• It is a shared social pool with a gate restricting stair access for safety
• Guests with young children are advised to keep the gate closed

Wi-Fi and Office

• Fiber optic internet with 300/20 Mbps speed covers nearly the entire property via modem and repeater
• Ethernet socket and cable available in the work area
• Isolated office space on level 6 with private access, furnished with a table, chair, fan, power regulator/charger, Ethernet cable, and a personal hammock for comfortable laptop use
• The office can accommodate one or two people for work and conference calls
• Upon request, the office can be converted into an additional bedroom with a fan and single bed

Dining Areas

• Main dining table seats ten people; a high chair is available for children

Guest Access

Guests are welcomed by the house manager, Luis, who provides access codes for the street and inner doors. These passwords change with each reservation and are personalized based on the guest’s phone number.

Luis or his wife is present on the property at all times to assist guests. Arrival can be coordinated by ringing the doorbell or calling ahead using the phone numbers provided in the automated check-in message.
