Pricing

The base price remains $44 per night. Due to Airbnb’s simplified fee structure, 15.5% is deducted from hosts, making the listed nightly rate $52. We mention this to provide guests with a fair understanding of the value of the accommodation.

Staying on an island in a natural setting comes with a few considerations.

Power and Internet

• Power outages are common during heavy rain, strong winds, and routine network maintenance.
• Each cabin has rechargeable fans and lights for use during outages.
• Extreme weather may also affect the island’s internet service.
• Our routers are solar-powered, so Wi-Fi should continue working even when the power is out.
• Each casita has a solar-powered charging strip for electronic devices during power outages.

Insects and Wildlife

As Ometepe is a natural reserve, the island is home to many insects, mammals, birds, and reptiles. We have taken measures to protect the indoor spaces from insects, but guests may still encounter small ants, geckos, an occasional nonvenomous scorpion or spider, and other wildlife.

We recommend keeping the doors closed to prevent flying insects from entering the cabin. If you encounter an insect, it can generally be swept outside.

Road Conditions

During the rainy season, the 700-meter dirt road leading to the property may become rocky in places after heavy rain. Although the road is mostly flat and in better condition than many other dirt roads on the island, we recommend driving slowly. A slightly higher vehicle is an advantage.
