This Volcano View Luxury Suite is part of Selvista Guesthouses, a collection of jungle guesthouses offering a blend of comfort and nature on Isla de Ometepe. The island is a lush, tropical UNESCO Biosphere Reserve situated in the middle of Lake Nicaragua, the largest lake in Central America.

The house provides a private and comfortable lodging experience with direct access to the surrounding tropical forest and an organic permaculture farm. This setting offers a convenient yet remote connection to nature and wildlife.

The suite occupies the entire 2nd and 3rd floors, separate from the Comfortable Suite with Forest Views located on the 1st floor. Please contact the host if you are interested in renting both suites, i.e., the entire house.

The house is a result of two years of hand-built construction by a local team using bamboo, wood, and stone sourced locally.

Guest Access

Guests have exclusive use of the entire 2nd and 3rd floors of the house. Full access is granted to the jungle/farm property and the open-air kitchen, where breakfast is served. The kitchen includes a cob oven and grill and is shared with three other guesthouses but is rarely used by others.

Breakfast is included and served daily from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. It features organic island coffee, lemongrass tea from the garden, and a variety of farm-fresh breakfast items prepared by a local cook.

Guests are invited to take a free guided tour of the 1-hectare (2.5-acre) property with the site manager. The tour highlights farm animals, tropical fruits, organic gardens, and examples of sustainability and self-sufficiency in the jungle.

Other Things to Note

The farm is home to three friendly and well-behaved dogs—Vago, Osa, and Navi—who provide companionship and security around the clock. They remain outside the house, enjoy resting, and welcome petting, though interaction is optional.

The entire property is a lush tropical forest teeming with diverse plant and animal life. Visitors may encounter small, shy jungle creatures such as birds, butterflies, bees, monkeys, frogs, toads, spiders, and small bats. Occasionally, some animals may seek shelter inside the house.

In line with the property's philosophy, natural remedies are used to manage wildlife, and guests will be informed about these upon arrival. None of the animals present are aggressive, poisonous, or dangerous to humans. The only venomous species on the island is the coral snake, which is shy and rarely seen.

These abundant species contribute to Ometepe's status as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, celebrated for its natural beauty and biodiversity.
