The Space
Experience tranquility in this spacious and peaceful studio, a brand-new, unique free-standing casita located high in Hacienda Iguana. Nestled among beautiful trees and surrounded by birds, monkeys, and iguanas, this serene setting is ideal for both relaxation and work. The studio offers privacy and comfort with a full kitchen and bathroom, just a three-minute walk from the world-class waves at Playa Colorado.
The studio is situated behind a home and above a garage within a fenced and gated area, ensuring privacy and security. Steps lead up to the casita, which features a roomy open-plan layout. Amenities include:
- WiFi with 20 Mbps speed
- Dining table that doubles as a workspace
- Ensuite bathroom
- Fully equipped kitchen with appliances such as a toaster oven and blender
- King-size bed (can be converted into two single beds)
- Indoor surfboard rack
- Air conditioning unit (800 BTU)
- Industrial ceiling fans
All furniture is handcrafted by a local carpenter using high-quality, heavy Nicaraguan wood. Outside, there is a small garden area to relax in and an outdoor shower for rinsing off after beach or surf sessions. This modern, comfortable casita offers a unique experience perched among the trees yet close to the ocean.
Guest Access
Guests will be greeted and checked in by the hosts, or self-check-in is available via a lockbox containing the key and instructions.
Additional Information
- Electricity in Nicaragua is among the highest in Central America. Guests are kindly requested to turn off lights, air conditioning, and fans when not in use and to conserve energy. Excessive electricity usage will incur additional charges.
- Power outages are common, especially during rainy or windy seasons. The loft is equipped with a generator powered by a propane tank to maintain electricity during outages; however, air conditioning does not operate on generator power. WiFi remains active unless the generator runs out of propane or the service provider experiences downtime.
- The pool is private and not shared with the loft.
- The garage is off-limits to guests, but parking is available beside the house.
- Laundry services are offered upon request.
- Private chef services can be arranged for meal plans.

Miki is a top tier host! She was very nice and helpful on many fronts including helping to arrange airport transport, local car rental, various directions and local tips and her son provided some advice about where to surf. The house itself is very nice, just as described/pictured, with good amenities to cook at home and good AC. Had a great stay here!

I stayed here for two nights and I couldn’t have asked for a better start of my holiday. Starting with the arranged pickup from the airport which was perfect, to al what you need in the apartment. Miki is very kindand very helpful. Thanks for this amazing start of the holiday!

Miki’s loft was exactly what we needed for our stay at hacienda iguana. Very comfortable spot for 2. She was a friendly host who made sure to introduce herself and provide anything we needed. The area is amazing. Worth a stop at pili’s for food. Can’t wait to come back!

This was my second stay at this unit. The location is perfect! Watch a howler monkey hang out in the trees by your window or fall asleep in the evening to the choir of frogs. It is always a treat to stay here and the host Miki is super responsive and thoughtful. I would happily do a three peat!

Miki is always making sure that everything is fine, and that the stay is full. After spending a few spectacular days, the final day arrived and we were sad to return. They knocked on the door and we got a gift. It was her son who brought us a cookie she had made. Great detail!! Thank you very much Miki, we will return anyway.
