Design
The design concept focuses on creating an open-plan indoor-outdoor living space that allows families to enjoy the tropical climate while providing cool, air-conditioned retreats. This is achieved through extended shaded terraces adjacent to every living area. Each room has individual cooling with personal split air conditioning units, and all bedrooms feature double-lined blackout blinds. Guests can enjoy privacy on personal hammock decking, watch games at the poolside bar, or sip cocktails in the pool.
Location
Rancho Alegre is set on the 2nd hole of the exclusive Hacienda Pinilla golf course, surrounded by abundant nature and privacy. Daily sights include howler monkeys, roaming deer, and flying macaws from the poolside lounge. A short golf cart ride takes you to the beach club on the white sands of Playa Avellanas.
The property is equipped with a MistAway mosquito misting system, programmed to automatically spray a mild botanical insecticide, ensuring a comfortable outdoor experience free from mosquitoes and other annoying insects.

Thank you all for a wonderful trip! The house and Hacienda Pinilla properties were beautiful. Our housekeeper, Fatima, did an amazing job and deserves a raise!! One thing to note, however, is 14/16 members of our party came down with food poisoning during the week. We believe the only thing this could’ve been was the house’s tap water. Have other guests reported similar experiences?

The house was beautiful and spacious. I loved that the pool and living area were centered in the middle it really made everyone feel included. The hosts were incredibly helpful both before and during the trip, from setting up breakfast to calling cars, helping with groceries, and answering random questions along the way. We had an amazing time and I would absolutely stay here again.

Our stay at Rancho Alegre was perfect. We did a girls trip with 7 people and this was the most amazing place to stay. There was more than enough room for all of us, the backyard by the pool is an absolute oasis in the morning with the birds chirping, and we saw tons of monkeys and iguanas. Opening all the sliding doors to the kitchen makes the whole house feel outdoors which was incredible when we were cooking in the evening. The host was super responsive and helpful with recommendations. We stayed for 2 weeks and it was hardly enough. I will definitely be back next year!!

Rancho Alegre was amazing. A stunning and absolutely beautiful home. The living areas were perfect for our large group - dinners, games etc. and what an awesome pool. One day we opted for the pool over the beach. The bedrooms are beautiful and expansive, each with a walkin closet and luxury hotel worthy en suite bathroom. Hacienda Pinilla is also amazing - beaches are probably the best we have ever been to, the rec activities - golf, tennis, pickle ball and mountain biking were all fun as well. And we saw monkeys and iguanas everyday. And one day saw the Red Macaws. WOW! We cannot wait to book again and go back, this time for a longer stay.

Joel and his team have always been available to assist us, including creating an instant messaging group as soon as we checked in, facilitating our communication. This was especially important for the quick solution of two problems we had – an air conditioner that stopped working and lack of water. In addition, they are always willing to help with tips and suggestions about places, services and shopping that we need. A special highlight for Jimena, who was responsible for the daily cleaning and cleaning of the house, as well as the preparation of breakfast. Always ready to help, flexible to meet our schedules and very nice, trademark of the Puerto Rican port. As for the house, excellent, even better than the pictures. Very spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Anyway, a great choice and we recommend to larger groups looking for where to stay in the Tamarindo region
