Welcome to La Gran Sultana
La Gran Sultana is a colonial house rebuilt in 2002, featuring a patio garden and swimming pool. The house can accommodate up to 12 guests across five bedrooms, including one additional room with a queen-size bed and no air conditioning.
Located just two blocks from the Main Square, the house offers convenient access to the city center.
In 2025, the property received several improvements, including:
- New furniture
- Mirrors
- Beds
- Television equipment
- Kitchen equipment
- Updated room and patio décor
- A striking wooden dining table
The Space
Casa La Gran Sultana is a spacious colonial home. From the street, two antique double doors open into a large saguan, or entrance hall, furnished with rocking chairs. This area is ideal for welcoming visitors or enjoying the fresh breeze from the lake at sunset.
Once the doors are closed, street noise is reduced. The entrance leads into a wide, three-sided corridor surrounding the garden.
One of the street-facing doors provides comfortable access and parking for a four-wheel-drive vehicle or van, and can accommodate two cars. The available parking width is 2.35 meters.
The main corridor leads to the center of the house and includes additional seating facing the pool, along with two hammocks suspended between exotic wooden pillars. The garden is filled with tropical plants that provide ample shade. At around 6:00 a.m., as the city wakes and the sun rises, birds—including hummingbirds—fly through the garden to drink.
The left corridor contains the internet connection, while the right corridor features the main dining tables.
The kitchen is centrally located between the two outer patios. It is spacious and equipped for preparing either a full meal or a simple snack.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
The house has five bedrooms:
- Two large bedrooms are located on the upper floor and open onto a shared area with a large television.
- The primary bedroom has a private bathroom, a king-size bed, and a large closet.
- The second bedroom has a private bathroom, a king-size bed, and a single bed.
- One bedroom is located on the main floor beside the patio. It has a king-size bed and a single bed, with a bathroom at the back of the room.
- Two bedrooms are located in the rear garden area:
- One bedroom has four beds.
- The other has a king-size bed.
- Each bedroom has its own corresponding bathroom.
Every bedroom includes a closet and a workspace. Four of the five bedrooms have air conditioning.
Upstairs, the balcony offers spectacular views over the roofs of the surrounding houses.
A water tank at the back of the house helps ensure a consistent water supply throughout the property.
Guest Access
Guests have access to the entire house. If the number of guests is lower than the maximum capacity, some bedrooms may be closed to prevent dust accumulation.
Important Information
- Electricity is expensive in Nicaragua. The daily rate includes 15 kilowatt-hours of electricity, plus an additional 10 kilowatt-hours for each occupied bedroom. Any additional usage will be charged according to the applicable cost per kilowatt-hour. Please turn off the air conditioning when leaving the bedrooms.
- Nicaraguan law strictly prohibits drug use. The consumption of any drugs, including cocaine, LSD, and marijuana, is forbidden in the house. If this rule is violated, the police will be contacted.

Probably one of the best and most unique airbnbs I’ve ever stayed at. So close to everything we need and the house was massive with many areas to socialize and plenty of room to sleep.

This was our favorite Airbnb of the entire trip! The home is absolutely beautiful, spacious, and full of character. Every detail added to its charm, and it truly felt like a special place to stay. The location was unbeatable—we were able to walk to restaurants, cafés, and shops with ease, and we loved doing our morning walks through the beautiful streets of Granada. Beila was wonderful throughout our stay—always friendly, responsive, and incredibly helpful. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would gladly stay here again. Highly recommend! ❤️🇳🇮

This was an amazing Airbnb to stay in. First off- it’s huge and there is a ton of space inside. Bedrooms were good and clean. AC worked great. We had a minimal charge for the additional Electricity. My kids loved the home and the surrounding area! Hosts were amazing and very helpful. If I were you- I’d stay here!!! We will be back again to visit soon!!!!!!!!!

Everything was excellent, the person in charge was very friendly and understanding. She was even very fair with some extra charges. I'm more than satisfied with everything.

We stayed with 6 adults / 4 kids / 1 dog. The pool is small but the kids loved it and it was used multiple times a day. Kitchen was well stocked with pots/pans/dishes/glasses. We cooked a few meals there including a big Christmas feast. Space for parking two cars - very secure and private. Easily walk around Granada. Lots of restaurants nearby and coffee right across the street. Margarita and House Manager Belia were very responsive - helping arrange a ride to the airport and suggestions on activities in the area.

The house is beautiful and as clean as you can get a 200+ year old house. Margarita was sweet and helped us find things we wanted to buy while we were visiting. What kind of made the trip less than great was that electricity was not included in the over 400 dollar rent. Call me old fashioned but a vacation should be stress free. Air, water, soap, towels, and electricity should be part of rent. We should not have to wonder what using the air conditioner would cost when we are hot. We were told to run the pool filter for two hours per day. We don’t know what the mandatory filter will cost. If it were a 25 dollar per day rental it makes sense that you can’t pay that and use 25 dollars of electricity. I just recommend add 20 bucks to the rent and drop the fee.
