A rustic 3-bedroom cabaña for 6 at the jungle meeting point of the Río Dulce and Tatín River. Enjoy river views, a private dock, hammock, solar power, and nearby kayak adventures.
Cabaña Manatí
Cabaña Manatí is a rustic retreat in a remarkable natural setting, where the jungle meets the point at which the Dulce River joins the Tatín River. Surrounded by trees, plants, and flowers, the cabin offers fresh air, privacy, and views of the river.
The Space
The Manatí cabin is a rustic, two-level wooden house with:
- Three bedrooms on the second level, each with a double bed and mosquito net
- Two bathrooms, one on each level
- An equipped kitchen
- A living room
- A dining area
- A desk overlooking the river
- A hammock
- A dock
- A solar photovoltaic system for lighting and charging cell phones and computers
The solar system requires some operation by guests. The refrigerator can be used to store and freeze food when there is sunlight.
You can prepare your own meals or ask Hugo Xol to prepare breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
The dock is a peaceful place to read, talk, rest, or sleep while enjoying the sunrises and sunsets. You can also jump into the river and swim nearby. The cabin has one of the best views along the Río Dulce.
At night, the stars and the sound of the river create a peaceful, magical atmosphere. The cabin is surrounded by vegetation, which provides valuable privacy and limits the view from the river toward the house.
Location and Activities
The cabin is situated in a beautiful, secluded environment away from large groups of houses and people. Nearby attractions include:
- Aguas Calientes
- Poza del Tigre
- Livingston
- Playa Blanca
- Siete Altares
Aguas Calientes and Poza del Tigre are very close to the cabin and can even be reached by kayak. You can also arrange excursions to Livingston, Agua Caliente, Playa Blanca, and other attractions.
The El Viajero Restaurant is located across the river from the cabin and is known for serving some of the best tapado in Río Dulce.
Finca Tatin is another option for dining and exploring. It is 1.5 kilometers from the cabin and can be reached by boat or kayak.
Local Assistance
Estrella Saquij will welcome you and provide assistance during your stay.
Juan Xol, a friend and neighbor, can help with small purchases, arrange kayaks, and provide transportation to Livingston, Agua Caliente, and El Viajero Restaurant. He can also assist with shopping in Livingston.
Federico Saquij can arrange longer trips to Playa Blanca and Siete Altares.
Guest Access
All areas of the property are available for guest use. No spaces are shared with other guests.

We enjoyed the location of the cabin on the river. The cabin is nice with basic amenities. The host's support was excellent. The cabin's neighbors were helpful. You can fish near the place. The cabin has some aspects that need to be improved in terms of cabin maintenance.

We had a good time in this idyllic place. Communication with Eduardo was excellent, he sent some helpful instructions for the cabin and contacts to make the stay enjoyable. The place was clean and we liked the rustic one, but you could pay better attention to some details at the price: working sink in the toilet upstairs, continuous mosquito net in the kitchen (otherwise no room protected from mosquito, except the bed), ladder from the jetty into the water for easier entry. You could experience flora and fauna up close and relax well. The Rio Dulce is lovely, unfortunately a lot of boats pass by there, which disturbs the tranquility. Juan, neighbor and a friend of Eduardo is nice and helpful and can help you with everything with his tienda and boat.

The place is beautiful, needs renovation but otherwise is a nice place with a beautiful view, not so far Livingston. And very close to the restaurant el Viajero. Eduardo is great, communicates everything about Airbnb and is very nice and ready to help.

Peace, tranquility and full contact with nature and the locals. If you are allergic to mosquitoes, wear repellent.

The house is a bit run down but the location more than makes up for it. This part of the river is only accessible by boat and only during daylight hours. Federico and his son Byron can give information about the area and the you to Rio Dulce (100Q) or to Livingston (50Q). They can also rent you a kayak which will get you to riverside restaurants in the area. The kitchen looked like it needed some work to make it usable. Not sure if the fridge works. Sitting on the jetty in the evening was the best!
