Casa Utila is a peaceful, art-filled home on the quiet outskirts of Santa Tecla in Colonia Utila. It offers a relaxing break from the city while remaining within walking distance of Santa Tecla’s lively downtown and conveniently located for trips to nearby beaches, mountains, and towns.

The Space

Casa Utila was created as a place to pause, breathe, and spend time together. Our half-Dutch, half-Salvadoran family has lived and traveled around the world, collecting pieces from Holland, El Salvador, Mexico, Vietnam, Chile, Peru, and Bolivia, among other places.

The home combines vintage furnishings and artisan-made heirlooms in a playful, creative, and comfortable setting. It features five bedrooms and three and a half bathrooms, including a private detached bedroom in the garden for added privacy.

Guest Access

The entire house is available to guests, except for two locked rooms in the property’s gardens and a locked dresser in the primary bedroom closet. These areas are reserved for personal storage and cleaning supplies. Please respect these private spaces.

Other Things to Note

Mosquitoes

Casa Utila is located in a tropical climate, and mosquitoes are more active during the rainy season.

• Bug repellent spray and plug-in mosquito repellent devices are provided. Please unplug the devices when they are not in use.
• All bedroom windows have mosquito screens.
• Some common areas also have screens for added comfort.
• Close doors promptly at dusk and consider wearing lightweight, long sleeves when outdoors.
