The place was a 5 star to stay in specially the second house which is where I stayed but it was extremely hard to drive there we got rerouted cz road was closed other road super bumpy uneasy to drive thru person in charge Salvador was very attentive 10/10 service there was no wifi and was going to get fixed a day after we left plan taking food and essentials as its really bumpy to drive out we did go to panajachel in boat but it is pricey to get the private boat recommended by host as it was minimum 1000 quetzales to go and come back for one day trip

Our stay was wonderful. The house is very nice, comfortable and full of special touches. It also has beautiful paintings and very well-maintained spaces. The landscape and the proximity to the lake make the place truly magical, ideal for resting and spending time with family. The staff's attention was excellent and they were always very friendly. We are very grateful to Adolfo for his hospitality. It's definitely a place we recommend and would love to return to.

We had an amazing stay with great variety of things to do! A cool swim in the lake or a warm swim in the heated pool both amazing. The option for help with cleaning the place and the on site staff was super helpful for our stay. Loved the privacy- and the views were spectacular. Would love to book again our family really enjoyed it!

Ataraxia is a beautiful property right on Lake Atitlán and made a wonderful home base for our group. The heated pool was a highlight, and the caretakers were courteous and helpful, even preparing tasty breakfasts for us. A few heads-ups for future guests: we encountered scorpions and bugs in the houses — not shocking given the remote lakeside setting, but shake out shoes/clothing and keep suitcases closed. The access road is rough for a loaded van; we found accessing by boat much easier. The path down to the lake is a decent climb, so consider mobility needs. Also, the listing mentions a washer/dryer, but the caretakers actually offer laundry service instead. None of these were dealbreakers — just good to know ahead of time. We had a great stay overall and would recommend Ataraxia to anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing spot on the lake.

A beautiful place, a nice house, a spectacular view. I loved that the house is surrounded by nature, the trails to go down to the lake, the campfire at night. Everything was amazing! The water in that part of the lake is crystal clear. You can swim and do water sports. We had a great time!
