Casa Kon Tiki is a vibrant 4-bedroom, 5-bathroom beach house located just steps from the stunning Playa Colorado beach, near the breaks of Colorados and Panga Drops. Situated in Hacienda Iguana on the breezy mid-north end of the beach, the home benefits from prevailing winds that keep it cool and comfortable.

Casa Kontiki is great for families. The space is lovely and well equipped, and someone came right away when we couldn’t get the barbecue working. Unfortunately, the meal service was disappointing. We had agreed on $40/adult and $20 for kids under 12, but the day before arrival we were told the kids’ rate only applied under 10. I had to insist to keep the original rate. Breakfast for 5 adults and 4 kids was one small pancake each, 12 eggs total, fruit and coffee only, far less variety than originally described. We ended up eating our own bread. When I raised the issue, the response felt dismissive rather than helpful. Dinner that night, however, was very good and everyone was full. We were also there on a Sunday, so I understood there was no pool cleaning, but we weren’t allowed to use the pool net and had to remove leaves and insects with a small strainer. Overall, poor communication around relatively minor issues tarnished what otherwise would have been a very nice family getaway.

The house has everything you need. The cleaning girl and the pool guy do what they have to do and much more. They are always willing to help. It is very well located. The layout of the rooms and the social area for sharing with family is very comfortable. We will definitely come back.

Casa Kon Tiki was amazing!! The house had everything we needed like the pool and pool table! The rooms were great, the outdoor showers were a nice touch to really embracing the Nicaragua experience. There’s obviously going to be bugs so that was no issue and the air conditioning was unbelievably cold, which was perfect for the hot and humid days! Can’t wait to go back and stay there again! Thanks again!

We spent a week here and it was the most amazing peaceful vacation! I loved the private gated entrance into the community, we felt super safe the entire time. The location of the house was directly across from beach access. You could hear the waves at night while relaxing in the pool or in the above game area. House keepers came and did laundry for a small fee and cleaned every other day. The caretaker cleaned the pool daily and helped with any issues we came across (1 minor spider incident). The house was absolutely amazing. The community was just as great! The local restaurants were all wonderful. Great meals the entire week everywhere we went. The fruit truck was a special treat to stop by for fresh fruit at the house. Our host was so kind and friendly with great recommendations and information. I am looking forward to our next trip back to Hacienda Iguana and will definitely stay at Casa Kontiki!

My family had a great time at Casa Kon Tiki. It had everything we needed and more. The house layout is fantastic for a large group. We could make use of the play room and not disturb anyone that wanted to rest. The house feels private and it’s only a few steps from the beach and a short walk to the beach house.

Great beach house for a large group or two families. Kitchen, living room, and game room are in a fully separate building. Each side of the courtyard has a master bedroom and a kids type room all with their own bathroom. This made for a great shared experience while all having our own private spaces. Great setup. Right across the street from the beach. 2 minute walk to the sand. House was clean and equipped with all the amenities. We have had two great stays here and will be back.
