My husband and I honeymooned here and absolutely loved it! The landscape was gorgeous with a private pool and beach. Douglas was easy to get in touch with and answered all of our questions. Would love to go back!

Beautiful place! Recommended. The downside is that the photos shown on the site no longer match what the place has become over time. I'll make a list of recommendations Douglas, thank you for listening attentively during our stay.

Douglas’ house is one of the top five vacation homes I have ever rented. The view of the ocean is unbeatable! This property was exactly what we were looking for with our family of four (kids ages 3.5 and 8). We probably spent 2/3 of our time in the gorgeous pool overlooking the ocean. It was warm, clean, perfect! The beach was empty and wonderful for walking (swimming isn’t what we were looking for, but if you are, the surf is pretty strong. Kids definitely needed to be tended in the water even in the shallow parts). We like to cook most of our meals when we stay in a home with a kitchen, and the kitchen was well equipped for our needs. Douglas is warm and welcoming and had his assistant Wendy answer any questions we had on arrival; she’s amazing too! Overall, this is a stunning tranquil escape and we’d definitely return! They have truly created a home away from home and we are honored to have been able to enjoy the space. Thanks!!

Accurate and beautiful view. A little remote if you prefer being closer to restaurants or other establishments, but that comes with the perk of we only saw 1 other person on the beach the entire week we were there. Lots of crabs which amused our kids. The tiles in the pool could use some TLC, but otherwise a good Costa Rica beach home.

Our family of 6, two kids, enjoy non tourist areas. The ocean surf and solitude beach was exactly what we hoped. There are surf towns a drive away where you can indulge in local fare. We felt we were at a secluded eco retreat. All appliances etc all in working order. The cleaning person, Wendy was obliging. Don’t sweat over the small stuff. Beautiful vibe.

Our family of 6 had an amazing stay here. Absolutely beautiful. The grounds, home and pool are beautiful and a welcoming sight after all our excursions. Super private and cozy. Doulas is the perfect host and helped us with any questions we had. He makes a pretty wicked cup of coffee too. Hope to come back one day.

When you arrive the first thing you hear is the Pacific Ocean. Next you enter the house and will be greeted by a stunning view of the pool glistening in front of colorful flowers and the ocean. This is an amazing and very private property and beach! The house is a little older and you may have to find some light switches but it has character, tasteful decorations and is super clean. The pool is in need of some repairs though 3 out of my 4 children sliced open their skin on broken tiles.

Doug was an amazing host—he met us on arrival, gave us a tour, and was always responsive and helpful with local recommendations. The home exceeded our expectations—the photos truly don’t do it justice. It’s a unique, beautiful space with plenty of room for our family of four to spread out and also come together. The kitchen was fully stocked, and everything was very clean. We loved the pool and stunning ocean views, and the private beach access was a huge highlight. Wendy, the housekeeper, was wonderful and went above and beyond! This home is a bit off the beaten path (about 40 minutes on mostly dirt roads), but that was part of the adventure for us. There are also no TVs in the house, which we actually loved! We spent our evenings playing games and going for night swims in the pool. The main area is not air-conditioned, but the bedrooms are! If you’re looking for a peaceful, authentic Costa Rica experience, this place is perfect. We would absolutely stay here again!
