Beautiful sunsets, amazing ocean, and night sky views. Wonderful weather in the evenings and the mornings, fairly warm during the day. Calm and nice surroundings.
Don't expect full privacy, though. The caretakers live downstairs. There is something about local electricity that could turn into a very expensive charge. However, we had no problems. Specifically, if you followed the owner's advice. Their caretakers were wonderful to us.
Overall, we are very happy and satisfied with our decision, and I recommend this beautiful place and host. Thank you.

The lady and her husband who live downstairs and take care of the housekeeping are impeccable. Always respectful when we asked to sleep instead of cleaning, the cleaning has always been well done they did more than what I am used to. Always smiling, always in a good mood, never bothered by the noise even when we thought it was a little loud. I couldn't have asked for better service from them really. They are always available for whatever help is requested. 10/10!!

The ocean view makes the home priceless. It’s beautifully decorated. It has everything we needed to cook our own meals. And the housekeeper was helpful and keeps the house spotless. We would love to come back it was great!

The house is comfortable, the pool is a little smaller than the one in the photo, everything else is super good, the maintenance staff are very attentive, the only thing as a recommendation is that on the balcony of the right room, the floor is a little rotten because it's wood and it can cause an accident, the rest is super good, Doña Carmen is very friendly

Our stay was good overall, the place is nice and has a good location. However, during the night we had a major inconvenience: the power went out and the generator ran out of gas, so we spent several hours without electricity. In addition, the manager's initial response was a bit rude and he did not show much willingness to help us at the time. The next day they finally fixed it.
I think that with better attention in these types of situations, the experience could be much more pleasant for future guests.

The house is very spectacular, it has really beautiful views and landscapes, my stay was excellent. The people in charge of the care and cleaning of the house were very kind, friendly and make you feel at home. On the other hand, I recommend a 4x4 vehicle for some stretches of the route that are not paved.

Beautiful house, the pool is an ok size. Really close to the city and host were super nice. If you are not a fan of bugs, be aware that there are lots of large grasshoppers at night. Overall a nice place though

It was a very nice stay overall, we rented atvs at the town of SJ and it was fun to take the road that gets to the house. A/Cs worked perfectly, the only thing is that the pool is a little smaller than it looks like. But the house is amazing I have many beautiful pictures.

The views from Casa Colibrí are beautiful—definitely one of the highlights. Great for sunsets and the house itself is spacious enough for a group (like two small families and a couple). It’s high up, so the weather at night was breezy and nice.
That said, there were a few things that made the stay a bit uncomfortable. The road to get up to the house is very steep and rough. You really need a 4x4—don’t take that lightly. The pool is much smaller than it looks in the photos, more like a large jacuzzi. Also, lots of bugs and crabs around (nature doing its thing), so bring bug spray and keep the mesh doors closed.
We also had issues with water coming and going at night and in the mornings. Plus, the AC in the master bedroom wasn’t working the first night (they did send someone to fix it), and the other two units went out on the last night.
Overall, gorgeous views and a big house, but our stay wasn’t as comfortable as we hoped. Just sharing for others to keep in mind!

Thanks Edgar for your review and reinforcing the need for 4x4 we put in the description of the house and welcome message and yet sometimes guess miss it, affecting their first experience arriving at the house. Our apologies with the problem with the AC we tried resolving it as soon as it was brought to our attention. As far as the nature that surrounds the house we indeed get visitors however the design of the house with screen doors all around the house allows us to coexist separately. We have updates the pictures of the pool so guests get accurate dimensions of the pool but seem like we are not accomplishing it.

Casa Colibrí is a beautiful place to stay if you’re looking for a private home. The view was breathtaking. Doña Auxiliadora and the gardener (I forgot his name sorry) were super helpful and friendly. A few things to note .. we weren’t aware how far the location was from the actual beach and you can’t see San Juan del Sur from the house. The main attractions are about 5-10 downhill and it’s not walkable. The view you see is of a different cliff beach. I also had trouble with one of the upstairs air conditioners as it took a while to start cooling the room in comparison to the other rooms. Overall, our stay was great. I would recommend this place if you have a good form of transport (4x4 vehicle or motorcycle) and are looking for a private stay outside of the main tourist area for safety.

The place was clean and the caretaker very helpful. Every room had air conditioning but the living area only fans. That made the house very hot and uncomfortable. The description of the house mentioned the lack of AC in the living area but I didn’t imagine the uncomfortable that could be.

Very good place, cozy, clean and organized, it is 5 minutes from the sea and supermarkets and the restaurant area, the host is very friendly and helpful, they take you to the place to avoid getting lost, very nice view, you can see the sunset, the people who come to clean the property and leave everything impeccable are also super friendly, helpful and honest

This place was absolutely incredible, and was a peaceful and relaxing stay just outside of town. The views are amazing, and the house was a comfortable and pleasant place for the week. Would love to come back!

The property matches the photos and is a nice place to stay. However, it is managed through an agency rather than directly with Airbnb. Upon arrival, you are required to visit the agency, sign a contract, and pay a deposit. If you exceed the daily energy consumption limit, the additional charges are deducted from your deposit. These steps can detract from the overall experience. Additionally, on our last day, we experienced a water outage in the morning.

Thanks for your feedback Lía, we do ask for a deposit to cover any electricity overuse as we include 30kw/h per day. This helps us keep an affordable rate for guests. We mention this in the general description of the listing as well as the welcome message you got when the property was booked. We also recommend the use of 4x4 due to the steep hills. We meet you at my office in town to direct you to the house, since the roads or address is not officially listed on Google maps, we like to direct our guest to ensure an smooth arrival, our apologies if this was rather inconvenient for you.
