Overview

Casa Torote is an ocean-view home in an excellent location, offering thoughtful amenities and a relaxed atmosphere. Managed by Wanderways Vacation Rentals, it is a short distance from the beach, a fully stocked supermarket, an artisanal coffee shop, restaurants, bars, and more.

Enjoy breakfast with stunning views, swim, snorkel, kiteboard, dive, paddle, cycle, barbecue, or gather around the fire pit and heated pool.

The hot tub is available only during the colder season, from mid-November to mid-March. It may be available during warmer months upon request for an additional fee.

The Space

Important Information Before Booking

Casa Torote consists of:

• A two-story main house with two bedrooms
• A small guest house with one bedroom
• A sofa bed
• A futon

The property accommodates six people in beds, with space for an additional two to four guests on the sofa beds.

Main House

The modern, spacious main house is tastefully furnished and well equipped. High ceilings and numerous windows provide excellent views.

The main floor includes:

• An open-plan kitchen and living room
• A guest half bathroom
• One bedroom
• A convertible living room bed that comfortably accommodates two children or one adult

The primary bedroom is located on the second floor and is accessible only by outdoor stairs. Guests staying upstairs can enjoy breathtaking ocean sunrises from bed.

Guest House

The guest house has a spacious studio-apartment layout and includes:

• A small front deck
• Living room
• Kitchen with a dual-purpose island for cooking and dining
• Bedroom
• Closet
• Full bathroom without a bathtub

Shared Areas

Common areas include:

• A palapa-covered grill and bar
• Heated pool measuring 4 feet deep
• Fire pit on the second-floor deck
• Seasonal hot tub

The palapa is ideal for socializing and barbecuing. It features:

• Ample counter space
• Large charcoal grill
• Half bathroom
• Changing room
• Outdoor shower
• Drying rack for wetsuits and other gear

Guest Access

Guests have access to every area of the property except for a couple of storage units containing machines and household supplies.

Activities and Nearby Beaches

Kiteboarding and Wing Foiling

Two launch spots are within a 5- to 10-minute walk.

• The closer launch point is recommended only for intermediate and experienced kiteboarders, as well as experienced wing foilers.
• The second beach is approximately 120 meters south. It has a wider sandy beach and is suitable for beginners.
• Several kiteboarding schools use the second beach as the starting point for downwinders.

For Beach Lovers

The nearby beaches are beautiful, private, and excellent for walking. The sand is somewhat coarser than the sand at South Beach.

Important Things to Note

Seasonal Hot Tub

The hot tub is normally available only from mid-November through mid-March. During warmer months, from March through mid-November, it may be available upon request for an additional fee.

Nighttime Noise

Although the town is usually quiet by around 9 p.m., people occasionally drive through playing loud music. This is part of the local culture—welcome to Baja, Mexico! Guests who are sensitive to nighttime noise may wish to bring earplugs.

Small-Town Infrastructure

Casa Torote is located in a small town in Baja, Mexico, where infrastructure can be limited. Power outages and other infrastructure failures are not uncommon and are beyond the host’s control.

The local environment can also be harsh on property and equipment, causing items to wear and deteriorate quickly. Refunds are not offered for issues outside the host’s control or when a feature is unavailable for one or two days.
