Location

Tulum is a small town made up of several boutique areas. For genuinely walkable beach access, the Hotel Zone is the best choice. From other parts of town, the beach is easily reached by car, scooter, taxi, or bicycle, and the concierge team can help arrange transportation.

Refer to the map for estimated travel times. During high season, allow additional time for beach trips because traffic can be heavier.

Beach Access

Tulum’s best beaches are often located behind private beach clubs. Through direct relationships with ten of the Mexican Caribbean’s most sought-after clubs—including Gitano, Hotel Panamera, and Umi—guests can access a curated selection of beach destinations.

After booking, guests receive the Jungle Luxe guest concierge app, which provides each club’s current terms, minimum spending requirements, and atmosphere. Beach day reservations can be made directly through the app the day before, allowing guests to arrive with a confirmed name on the list.

Most Tulum beach clubs operate with a minimum consumption requirement, meaning guests commit to a set food-and-drink spend instead of paying a traditional entrance fee. This is standard in the area, and requirements vary by club. Through October, many clubs waive or reduce their minimums; during high season, requirements are generally stricter. The app provides the details in advance.

Outside food and drinks are not permitted, as all refreshments must be purchased from the club’s kitchen.

Public beach access points are also available, and a small number of Tulum hotels maintain public access to the beach. The concierge team can recommend the best options for your stay, including honest guidance on chair availability and expected crowds.
