Overview

Sea House offers an ideal retreat to relax by the pool or serve as your base for exploring both land and sea adventures. Within minutes, you can visit unique shops, juice bars, and restaurants featuring excellent happy hours. Activities nearby include horseback riding, catamaran sailing, zip lining, hiking, or simply unwinding while listening to birds and watching the changing sunlight.

The Space

Inspired by Spanish colonial design, our home combines natural elements with distinctive antiques and modern conveniences to create a private sanctuary perfect for stress relief.

Upon entering Sea House, you’ll experience a spacious and inviting atmosphere with high ceilings, wrought iron chandeliers, and an indoor fountain. The open-concept first floor includes:

• Fully equipped, full-size kitchen
• Ample seating for dining and lounging
• Books and games for entertainment
• Wi-Fi, cable TV, stereo system with speakers throughout
• iPod hookup, HDMI cable, and Roku

A grand concrete staircase with an inlaid compass rose leads to the second floor, which also features high ceilings and three bedrooms. Each bedroom has a private bathroom and air conditioning. Two bedrooms (one king, one queen) open directly onto the second-story patio, while the third bedroom includes three sets of sturdy bunk beds and a private balcony.

The central hallway opens onto a patio overlooking the Pacific Ocean, furnished with:

• Large potted palms
• Wet bar
• Wicker sofa and rocking chairs
• Loungers perfect for naps or sunset cocktails

A professional massage table is available for a relaxing treatment accompanied by the sounds of birds and gentle breezes.

Outdoor Areas

The first level features another patio with:

• Handmade table and plenty of seating
• Two hammocks
• Large swimming pool surrounded by palms and flowers
• Rocking chairs, loungers, and a wicker seating area ideal for stargazing

Across the street is a spacious, landscaped parking lot for convenient vehicle access. This area also includes a separate rancho with two hammocks for relaxation or yoga space.

A mini gym is available with:

• Slackline
• Chin-up bar
• Pull-up bar
• Free weights

Guest Access and Amenities

Guests have exclusive use of the house, pool, and parking lot. Rates depend on the number of occupants and are strictly enforced. Additional guests require extra payment.

Electricity conservation is encouraged due to high costs. A daily allotment of 40 kWh is included in the rate. Meter readings are taken at arrival and departure, with any excess usage billed to guests and collected by the property manager.

Staff and Support

As the owner, I remain engaged throughout your booking and stay. On-site caretakers Eddy and Marina ensure a smooth experience:

• Marina handles cleaning, bed-making, and dishwashing. She is also an excellent cook and can prepare meals for an additional fee (details provided in the Welcome Packet).
• Eddy maintains the pool, operates the backup generator if needed, and manages trash removal.

Marina is learning English and uses Google Translate to assist communication. Our friendly dog, Petey, is also around to brighten your day.

A property manager is available to help with translations, reservations, or any issues that may arise, providing a reliable support team.

Location

Sea House is located within the gated Paradise Bay community, which features few homes and abundant green space for exploration. Depending on the season, you may spot whales breaching in the bay or hear howler monkeys in the nearby trees. Early mornings are filled with bird songs.

The town of San Juan del Sur is approximately a 20-minute walk away, ideal for those seeking exercise. Alternatively, renting a vehicle or taking a taxi reduces travel time to about six minutes. Paradise Bay is gated, so entry requires passing through a gatekeeper. Recommended transportation services are listed in the Welcome Packet.

San Juan del Sur offers a lively atmosphere with restaurants and bars along the bay and surrounding streets. While the town can get noisy, Sea House provides a peaceful retreat where you wake to the sounds of nature and enjoy views of the Pacific Ocean and Costa Rica.

Dress comfortably rather than formally. Suggested items include:

Pricing and Policies

• Base rate: $175 per night for two guests
• Additional guests: $25 per person per night
• Long-term rental discounts available
• Holiday rates apply as shown on the calendar
• Christmas rate: $500 flat fee

Illegal activities are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate eviction without a refund.
