The Space

The apartment is ideal for a family or two couples. The master bedroom features a king-size bed and a private bathroom with a separate toilet. The second bedroom includes a queen-size bed, an additional single bed for a third guest, and its own private bathroom. An extra cot can be provided upon request.
The fully equipped kitchen allows you to prepare your own meals, which can be savored in a lovely dining area. Please note there is a friendly dog on the property who does not enter the suite but enjoys greeting guests.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Katrin’s place. It is very spacious, clean and well equipped. The pool is amazing, and we saw lots of wildlife including monkeys and toucans from the garden. It’s a perfect location near the national park and beaches. Katrin is a very helpful host, offering great recommendations.

Great home. The pool was magnificent and great to spend afternoons. There is no air conditioning in the main living areas which kept us from spending much time together but the bedrooms had air condition and we just spent our other time at the pool. Katrin was great at booking tours for us - even with our last minute notice.

Katrin was very kind, and has a beautiful home. Her gardens and outdoor spaces are spectacular. The birds and butterflies were always present in her flowers. We heard howler monkeys every day, and had other monkeys visiting trees nearby several times. Very close to the National Park. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Really enjoyed our stay at Villa Leonardo! Everything was clean and working properly. The pool was amazing, it feels like you’re swimming in the jungle. It truly felt like an immersion into the rain forest. Katrin was responsive and helpful, referring us to local fishing guides who were both excellent, and she also sent us to an amazing waterfall hike in an area most tourist don’t know about. It was a challenge to find the location the first time, mostly because we weren’t able to get there before dark. Roads are quite steep in areas and a couple spots made us thankful for our 4WD rental car. Definitely recommend having that for traveling around here. Once we got to see the area in the daylight it was no trouble getting around. Highly recommend Katrin and Villa Leonardo!

We had a great stay at Katrin’s place! It was very clean. Large space with a great pool. We were able to see Howler Monkey’s and Capuchin’s right out the back deck. It felt very private. Katrin was helpful, friendly and respectful. A little tricky to get to but if you follow her instructions you will find it no problem! Thank you for a great stay!

Katrin was really nice and attentive, she met us in person, the stay was nice. Her backyard was beautiful and peaceful. We even got to see 3 different kinds of monkeys. I will totally recommend her place for your next trip.

Thank you for the beautiful stay. The pool was a great size, the house was antique and overall it was a beautiful home. Katrin was nice to help us book our rides from la fortuna and to the airport which we appreciated. One important factor to note is that you only have one floor of the house, which is the top apartment- as the host lives downstairs, in the bottom of the house, with a few dogs. The dogs didn’t bother us but they did bark and at one point came up the stairs briefly. Another factor to note is that the living room has screens as windows, so there is not much privacy as you can hear everything from the outside and there are no curtains. It can also feel a little dangerous, and some screens were loose so mosquitoes/bugs were coming in. We did experience a blackout and the power went out completely. The air bnb is high up the hills so some ubers made us walk to meet them.

A lovely location and a beautiful villa that was spotless upon my arrival. The pool is fantastic with lovely views of the trees and monkeys swinging through the canopy. Katrin is lovely and very helpful with organising trips and transport while respecting your privacy. I would definitely stay at Villa Leonardo again.
