The Space
Experience living in a Spanish colonial bungalow nestled within a lush tropical garden. This home, known locally as "Casa de Campo," holds historical significance as one of the first residences built in Hacienda Pinilla, situated on the original site of Casa Hacienda Pinilla. It has been rebuilt to include modern amenities while preserving its historical charm through the use of locally sourced wood and classic Spanish Colonial Revival architecture.
The design reflects early 20th-century Spanish Colonial Revival style, adhering to traditional Costa Rican Hacienda architecture guidelines. Over 20% of the wood used is sustainably sourced locally. The house features a stucco exterior, clay-tile roof, exposed beams, wrought-iron accents, 18-foot ceilings, and a covered veranda. It is one of the largest luxury homes in Hacienda Pinilla, thoughtfully designed to complement the surrounding landscape, wildlife, and cultural traditions.
Inside, guests will find spacious bedrooms with high ceilings, offering views of tropical birds and monkeys from the windows. The lanai provides a beautiful outlook over the exotic garden, perfect for relaxing or entertaining.

We had a great stay at David’s place in Costa Rica. The proximity to the beach and the private pool were perfect for the hot weather, and the huge covered back patio was a great spot to take a break from the sun. The house manager was quick to respond whenever we needed anything, and the home had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We can’t wait to return!

We loved staying at this house. We had plenty of Monkeys to watch in the yard. The house was very traditional Costa Rica style. It was very clean and the yard was beautiful. We rented a golf cart and it was nice to be able to get around. The Beach club was also very nice. The concierge was very helpful!

While the location offers a truly remote , there were several issues that future guests should be aware of. The house itself is quite old and in need of major renovation. It did not feel well maintained, and unfortunately it was not very clean upon arrival. There were bugs crawling around the house during our stay. While I understand that being located in the jungle naturally comes with insects, the overall cleanliness made it feel more uncomfortable than expected. The property is very remote. The dirt roads leading to the community make travel slow and sometimes frustrating — getting anywhere takes much longer than you would think. Because of this, I would recommend planning activities in a nearby town rather than relying on going back and forth frequently. There is nothing to do around. No good restaurant. nightlife or any bar nearby. You have to drive minimum 30 minutes to get anywhere Overall, this place may be suitable if you truly want to disconnect and simply relax

Casa Campos was exactly as we expected. The house had everything we needed and the location was perfect with a short walk to a private beach as well as Playa Avellana which was just a short drive away. The beach club amenities at Playa Avellana were a bit overpriced but the opposite end of the beach at Lola’s was a great cheaper alternative and only 15 minutes away. There is construction next door but we weren’t bothered by the occasional noise. We’d recommend this place to anyone, especially families looking to spend quality time together at a relaxing location.

Great house to visit with the family. My parents are very old and one thing I was worried was for their confort.. and the house absolutely nailed it. The beds are confortable, theres plenty space to be around, and a pool with a very accesible way to get in. Walking distance from a rocky beach, but its very close by car from other more sandy beaches. If you have kids and are bringing the old ones around, this is the place to be.

The house was spacious and beautiful! There is a lovely outdoor space and the location is fabulous. It could use some updating, but our family really enjoyed our time there.
