The space The harmonious blend of house and seascape is unparalleled in this sweeping six-bedroom home. The entire home opens up to wide terraces and private balconies with unending views of Picasso skylines. The onsite staff and daily housekeeping ensure your stay is effortless relaxation.
An Infinity pool looks over the clear blue waters of the sea with an adjacent palapa housing a swim up bar, BBQ and providing soft shade. Casa Rodriguez was crafted to bring the outer beauty in with sliding glass doors that can be pushed aside to open the entire front of the house. Each bedroom also has glass double doors that open up to a large second floor terrace with sweeping views of painted sky touching the mountains in the distance. All details have been considered including six bedrooms and six and half bathrooms to offer families and groups privacy and space to relax. The large master suite tubs surrounded by shuttered windows letting in the soft light of evening is the perfect way to unwind or curl up in a large rattan chair in the open air living room to watch the sunset.
With a private beach entrance, you can lounge on powdery sands and snorkel directly in front of the house, or to get a little sun and a stretching view of the shoreline, take out one of the sea kayaks for an early morning paddle. For further exploration, you can charter the Casa Rodriguez fishing boat and head out to open waters for some deep swimming and big game fishing.
One of the benefits of living or vacationing by the ocean is the ability to catch your dinner! Whether you are an avid fisherman or a novice with a surf rod on the shore, the fishing at Casa Rodriguez is spectacular, to say the least. Located directly on the beach by El Cardonal, the plunder of the Sea of Cortez is yours if you are up for the challenge. The area is known for world-class sportfishing and big game, especially when you’re offshore!
However you choose to spend your time, The Villa will fully satisfy your vacation desires and is sure to leave you a little awestruck. Be sure to check us out online at eastcapevilla for more information about things to do!
El Cardonal on the east coast of the Baja is not where you go to have just another Mexican beach vacation. This is where you come when you want perfection. Casa Rodriguez delivers nothing less, sitting directly on flaxen sands overlooking the pristine Sea of Cortez. Everything around you is nature’s optimum in tranquility, and this home was designed with that in mind. Embracing modern amenities and luxury comfort, the property still maintains a harmonious balance with the nature around it.
Guest access Our business manager, Samuel, is your local concierge, greeting you at the property and assisting you with any special requests or desires during your stay.
Other things to note Casa Rodriguez is fully staffed with English/Spanish speaking locals. Our concierge, Samuel is available to help arrange any activities or catering requests at no additional cost. He is also a great resource for special requests.
Vicente will be your onsite caretaker as well as your boat captain for all sea fishing and visual tours of the gulf. Lupita (Vicente's Daughter) will take care of all your daily house cleaning needs (including dish washing!).
Our recommended van service provider, Homar will happily transport you to and from the airport ($300 round trip) and day trips around the East Cape area. His vans can accommodate all of your guests as they arrive and travel. If you're not using Samuel's grocery pick up service, we recommend stoping at Chapitos, a large grocery store, in Los Barrilles - on your ride from the airport to Casa Rodriguez. Let Homar know ahead of time that you'd like to stop there to pick up groceries for the house (there may be a small additional charge).
If you would like to arrange catered meals, Samuel can help you to arrange it on request. Our local eateries offer traditional Mexican platters from the region as well as mouthwatering steaks, succulent shrimp and lobster plates and a variety of fresh seafood. Your meals will be prepared to your specifications and priced accordingly (approx $18 - 22 per person, per meal). There is always plenty of left overs to snack on later in the day. We do not allow local chefs to prepare food in our home. All food must be prepared and cooked at restaurant and brought to Casa Rodriguez for serving. Mariachi entertainment can also be arranged upon request.
During the day, there are a variety of activities directly out your front door. The sea is very calm and has a soft sand entrance. You can spend your time floating in the clear, salty water or using one of the property’s three sea kayaks, four paddleboards or multiple snorkel sets. The local sea life is magical, and only a short walk down the beach, you will find a living reef teeming with tropical fish. If you want to go out further and try your hand at catching a sailfish, tuna, rooster fish, or even a marlin, let Vicente know to prepare his fishing boat, "Caterino" Think what you could have for dinner!
Vicente is the grounds keeper for Casa Rodriguez in El Cardonal, but he is also a legendary boat captain who grew up fishing the waters of the East Cape. A day out on the boat with him as your guide, you are sure to come back with plenty of fresh fish for dinner and most likely lunch too! $400 per day, per boat. Half day is $300 per day.
With your line in the water you will have the opportunity to wrestle the massive big fish the East Cape is known for, so be prepared for the workout. They put up a good fight!
Fishing on a kayak directly from the house has yielded many guests some great catches. Fishing from the shore is fantastic as well.
Don't forget to ask about the collection of games and beach toys we have available for guest use!!
**There is an additional cost to heat the pool and outdoor salt bath. $2,000 minimum for week of pool heat, each additional day is $250 $100 per day for heated outdoor salt bath. Please note that heated salt bath does not have jets.

We had the best time at Casa Rodriguez! The house and property are more beautiful in person than in the photos. Samuel, Vincente, and Homar provided five star service. We can’t wait to go back!

Best place in El Cardonal. Second time we have stayed at the property and it was fantastic. Great house layout for many guests. The pool overlooking the Ocean is fantastic. Vicente, who lives on the property is awesome and extremely helpful. He took us out fishing and we caught a Sailfish and a Dorado. Highly recommend this place and we are already looking forward to our next trip down!

A great place for a big family vacation. Lots of bedrooms, lots of bathrooms. If you want a bustling city around you, this is not the place, but if you want a place that feels isolated but safe, I'd highly recommend. There's a two good small markets and restaurants an easy half mile walk or drive up the road. The ocean is warm enough to swim in even in December, and Vicente who lives on-site is happy to help arrange for fresh fish (if the sea isn't too rough for fishing), keeps an eye on the place, and his daughter Lupe comes to do the dishes and to clean as much or as little as you want every day. Madison and her team are really responsive to problems. If you had a large group, the inside table doesn't seat more than about eight people, but there's a large outside table which would be fine. Good kitchen for cooking, good knives, but a bit of a shortage of ceramic plates and glasses, although the kitchen is well-stocked with plastic plates and cups. Overall, I'd recommend highly.

Our stay at Casa Rodriguez was absolutely dreamy. The house and setting are beautiful, the staff are friendly and helpful, and boating and fishing with Vicente were a highlight! Our group of 15 had plenty of space, we had a kid room with air mattresses and Madison was very helpful with all my questions about space and layout. The only drawback that had nothing to do with the house was the presence of jellyfish in the Sea of Cortez- but the gorgeous pool was a great option. We spent lots of time on the water, paddle boarding and sea kayaking, but snorkeling wasn’t an option due to some stings. We want to come back in the spring or fall and try again! We saw coral, rays, turtles, and even an octopus right in front of the house- it is so vibrant and alive. The shady pool bar was so perfect, we could watch rays jumping in the sea. The night sky was brilliant, as were all the sunrises and sunsets. We loved our trip and hope to return to Casa Rodriguez again in the future!

We had a great week at Casa Rodriguez. This large house accommodated a large group of adults and teenagers. We loved swimming in the beautiful pool and the warm ocean. Vicente was a great fishing captain and made us delicious ceviche. He felt like a member of the family by the end of the week. We hope to return again in the future!
