Everything is very nice and quiet. The location is close to the beach, but if you arrive by bus, you have to walk a little uphill on the same street. The same goes for the stairs to get to the house. Keep in mind that you have to walk with a lot of energy to go up them.

Everything is very good The best part was the breakfast, which was super complete and delicious. Very clean and pleasant cabin, good service. The only thing to note is that there are a lot of steps to get to the cabin; otherwise, everything was perfect.

We loved our stay of 5 nights. Joni (co-owner) and the staff were friendly and helpful. Joni helped me figure out the ferry…Bonus! We cook when we travel and the house was fully set up to do so (cooktop but no oven). Walking distance to the supermarket and a great Saturday market as well. Howler monkeys making their way past (1st time actually seeing them in 9 years of visiting CR)…birds, and lots of wildlife. Perfect breakfast. There are steps…71 I think. So that is a reality for the house we stayed in…there are others if you look on the website. Worth considering booking directly as with all private places…we would on the next trip. Montezuma is a cool place (5ish min walk) and tons of beaches up and down the road.

Luz en el Cielo is an ideal combination: it offers the comforts of a complete house in direct contact with nature - we saw all kinds of animals from the large balcony - and at the same time it is connected to the hostel, where you can meet other people, enjoy a good breakfast and the pool, and above all receive all kinds of useful information and suggestions about Montezuma and its surroundings from the host, Jony. The whole team is very friendly and warm as well. Two things to keep in mind, which are well informed in the publication: to get to the house you have to climb some steep stairs (given the mountainous terrain of Costa Rica this is not strange and as an advantage you are then in the middle of the treetops, seeing green from all the windows), on the other hand there is no air conditioning but there are fans in all the rooms and good air circulation in the house, at night you could rest well. We would definitely come back!!

We loved the laidback and friendly atmosphere. Our house was spacious, private and surrounded by beautiful nature. Montezuma restaurants and beaches are just down the hill - easily walkable also for children.

The place is very nice, there are animals around and I like that they have recycling bins - it's also quite spacious and quiet. We love that breakfast was included. However, we were taken by surprise by the many stairs that you have to climb to get to the accommodation and also that the pool was shared. In the photos it looks like it's private and part of the house. However, the shared pool is beautiful.
