Guest Access
Playa Maderas is a hillside beach community. Due to the panoramic ocean views, the walk to the beach involves steep terrain. For easier access to southern Nicaragua and the beach, renting a 4x4 vehicle or a motorbike (if comfortable) is recommended. While a vehicle is not mandatory, as the community is walkable, be prepared for walking up and down hills.
The property includes two parking spots. We advise renting only a 4x4 vehicle or an ATV/motorbike. The house is approximately a 10-minute walk downhill to the beach. If using a taxi or rental car, ensure it is a 4x4 vehicle.

Electricity Policy
Due to the high cost of electricity in Nicaragua, a meter reading is taken at the start and end of your stay. Guests receive an allowance of 20 kWh per day, which is sufficient for evening and nighttime air conditioning use. Any consumption beyond this allowance is charged at $0.35 per kWh.
To conserve energy and reduce costs, please avoid leaving air conditioning units running throughout the day. The house is equipped with a battery backup system that automatically powers Wi-Fi, fridge, lights, fans, and outlets during outages, ensuring a comfortable and uninterrupted stay.

Nous sommes restés un mois dans cette villa en mars-avril 2026. Benjamin a été extraordinaire, très réactif et il a toujours une solution. La Villa est très confortable et agréable. Le chemin pour y accéder n’est pas facile, il est nécessaire d’avoir un 4x4. La piscine est petite. Le rapport qualité prix était très bon. Merci pour tout Benjamin.

We really enjoyed our stay. Originally we were concerned about it being a bit of a ways from San Juan but after seeing how busy the town was compared to the last time we were there, we were happy being a bit farther from it. It’s a short drive from San Juan and the new paved road goes basically right to the hill the house is situated on. You will want a 4x4 to get there but you can’t beat the sunsets on the patio. The binder Ben has in the bnb is super helpful and we were able to find some super cool spots close by that we really enjoyed. Yes there were tiny ants in the kitchen but as long as you keep your food in containers or in the fridge it wasn’t a big deal. That being said, the kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need. You won’t be disappointed booking this spot and the host is super great to deal with.

Lovely home with spacious bathrooms and a comfortable environment, with air conditioning and ceiling fans to keep things cool and breezy. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of counter space. We enjoyed the breathtaking sunset view from the poolside lounging area, which overlooks the ocean, creating a truly relaxing and scenic experience.

Amazing stay in this little paradise of a home in Nicaragua, surrounded by beautiful birds and lush plants! The house is absolutely stunning. There are some beautiful beaches nearby. Ben was always reachable and came to welcome us and share some of his favorite spots. Would definitely come back.

Beautiful place to stay when visiting Playa Maderas. It was a nice relaxing beach compared to the hustle of San Juan del Sur. The view and the sunsets from the patio are unbelievable. The pool was a perfect place to rest after a long day. The home was incredibly comfortable and the mattresses were so comfortable. The home was very private. The house is easy to find in the daylight, but we highly recommend you arrive for the first time before dark as it was hard to find once the sun went down. Directions were great but it was so dark and online maps were a bit useless… We would 100% stay there again!

Wir würden diese Unterkunft jederzeit wieder buchen & hätten am liebsten verlängert. Ein SUV wäre vorteilhaft, wir haben im Voraus eingekauft & hatten daher keine Probleme mit der Verpflegung. Die Küche ist super ausgestattet mit allem was man braucht. Der Fußweg zum Strand ca.15 Minuten, ist zwar hart aber lohnt sich auf jeden Fall. Gemütliche kleine Strandbars warten in einer tollen Bucht. Die Kommunikation mit Benjamin war super, er war sehr engagiert & hilfsbereit für jederlei Anliegen. Das Haus hat einen besonderen Charme, ist total stilvoll eingerichtet & die Sonnenuntergänge sind unvergesslich.

Das Haus ist sehr hochwertig eingerichtet und man hat eine wunderbare Aussicht aufs Meer. Der Pool ist super zum entspannen und es gibt ein paar schöne Restaurants. Ben ist super freundlich und sehr gut zu erreichen. Am Strand kann man sehr gut surfen gehen.
