The Grove Sanctuary, a tranquil private ground floor apartment to unwind. Located in Puntarenas Province, southern Costa Rica, on the Playa Zancudo Peninsula. The area is laid back and non touristy. The Grove is 300 ft. from the beach and just off the main road. The large veranda overlooks the surrounding gardens with ample hammocks & seating. Includes a large fully equipped kitchen. Full private bath & bedroom sleeping 4. A perfect place for families or those looking for a tranquil retreat. The space The Grove is surrounded by nature, you can look for dolphins just off the coast in the morning and bird and animal watch all day long, then fall asleep to the chorus of crickets & creatures of the mangrove at night. Our sanctuary garden is filled with flowers and edible fruits and we follow sustainable permaculture practices. The Grove is bright & tranquil and has many spaces to explore, or relax, and also great wifi and multiple places to work remotely. This is a great space for those needing a self retreat, or a get away to work on a project in peace. Also a great safe space for families, with playgrounds and beach all walking distance away. Guest access There is safe parking on the street for guests, and if you don't have a car all that is needed is accessible by walking and taxi. Stores & restaurants are all walking distance. Day trips to pavones surf and excellent rainforest hikes or dolphin boat rides are all close by. Other things to note You are welcome to book an energy work or a reiki training retreat for a fee. I offer reiki 1, II and Master programs. I offer meditation, Yoga classes and authentic Sri Lankan curries upon request for a fee.

Un lugar muy tranquilo bastante cerca de la playa y privado con todas las comunidades que necesitas Ruan fue bastante amable y siempre nos ayudó

We have been traveling for nearly two months along the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica - moving every Friday until we got to Zancudo where we spent two full weeks relaxing and enjoying the beauty and tranquility of Ruan's place. The grounds where beautiful and the four minute walk to the ocean was easy. The ocean was amazing - we felt very safe just hanging out in the gentle waves and relaxing in the warm water. We did experience a record heat wave with no air conditioning and were dependent on fans to keep the air moving around us and she did have good fans! The kitchen was great and we felt like the whole stay was wonderful. Much thanks to Ruan for her efforts in helping us make the most of our time in Play Zancudo.

We can highly recommend both Ruan as a host and her accommodation. Zancudo is a beautiful, silent and peaceful place. The beach is fantastic and really good for children. Nice bird watching as well with Scarlet Macaws right in front of the door. Remember to visit the restaurant Pana Home at the northern tip of Zancudo, delicious food, good prices and very kind people. We took a boat trip on the river one morning and saw big crocodiles and lot's of birds. Definitely a trip we can recommend, ask for David Andrés at Pana Home. This guy can give you a taxi boat ride to Golfito as well. Zancudo is easy to reach with public transport, there is a direct bus from Ciudad Neily every day at 14:30 (2,5 hours). Ruan was such a great host, she is helpful and kind. We enjoyed her company a lot and spent a lovely evening together (Ruan is a very good cook, her Sri Lanka food is delicious!). We extended our stay with an extra day and I am sure you will do the same! Thank you Ruan for everything!

Ruan is a very nice host, she is welcoming, friendly, responsive and helpful. The location is convenient to shops, restaurants and a nice section of the beach has access just across the road. Recommended for short and longer stays.

Truly a sanctuary... from the front gate, you can see the ocean, maybe a 2 minute walk to the beach... we took our coffee over in the mornings. LOVELY space, felt very private even though the family was living above, Ruan gave us a lot of privacy and we happily passed our honeymoon in this lovely apartment. The hot shower with a "rain" showerhead -- really nice touch. Ruan is a Reiki / energy healer, and I definitely felt her magic. 10/10 Recommend.

We hadden redelijk last minute geboekt, en we waren al bijna op de plek van bestemming maar nog geen bevestiging ontvangen. We kregen de bevestiging toen we eigenlijk al op een andere plek aan het inchecken waren. Gelukkig konden we bij Ruan terecht. Een fijne benedenwoning met fijne tuin. We konden ook gebruik maken van een wasmachine, dat was erg fijn. Manolo, die ons de woning liet zien was erg aardig en gaf goede tips over restaurants in de buurt. Een fijne plek om even tot rust te komen of een beetje te werken. Neem wel genoeg muggenspray mee, want die zijn er veel! Met de ventilatoren aan bleven ze redelijk weg. De keuken is goed uitgerust met koffiezetapparaat, blender en broodrooster.

It is a very nice place. Ruan is a very kind person and he was always aware of us. You have a good room and a space with all the necessary privacy just a few steps from the beach. I recommend this beautiful place.

great place to relax & enjoy the beautiful zancudo beach ! just a close walk to the quietest beach we’ve been to in costa rica. ruan is the most lovely person & was so accommodating to our group. will miss this place !
