The Space
This spacious and open two-bedroom, two-bathroom casita is located just 250 meters from the beach. It offers everything you need for a relaxing stay in Costa Rica, allowing you to focus on enjoying your time and remembering to apply sunscreen.
Each casita features a private front patio area equipped with a dining table for four and a hammock, perfect for an afternoon rest. The property is quiet, surrounded by beautiful landscaping, and includes access to a shared pool that remains uncrowded.
Our casita is situated between the estuary and the ocean, creating a habitat rich with local wildlife such as birds, iguanas, and monkeys. The interior includes built-in furniture with comfortable cushions, though you will likely spend most of your time on the inviting patio or in the large shared pool, which is used by only five casitas.
The patio overlooks the common pool and includes:
- A teak dining table with seating for four
- A hammock for relaxation
- A gas barbecue grill
The garden is designed to maintain your privacy despite the shared spaces.
Both bedrooms are roomy and furnished with king-sized beds featuring nearly new pillow-top mattresses. The master bedroom includes an en-suite bathroom. The kitchen is equipped with a brand-new cooking range and oven, along with a large double-door refrigerator. The living room has built-in furniture, a smart TV with cable, and high-speed internet—among the fastest available in the area.
Location
The casita is part of a gated community called Palm Beach Estates. Within walking distance, you will find several restaurants and a small convenience store.

It was a great vacation and exactly what I was looking for. Quiet setting with the shared pool, well equipped house within walkable distance of the beach and restaurants. The kids were pretty excited to see some monkeys in the trees and a big iguana kept us company at the pool. Super relaxing.

This was our second stay in Playa Grande at one of Shawna’s properties and again, it was great. Just as described, house had everything we needed for a family of 4 with 2 young kids. Pool was a bonus during those hot afternoons. 5 ish minute walk to the beach, or very short drive with plenty of free parking if you are carrying surfboards etc. Shawna is super responsive and helpful!

Great spot 8 mins walk from the beach! Quiet area with a nice little pool for the surrounding condos and a well kept pretty garden that provides privacy. Shawna was super helpful on our arrival and it's easy to find the place with her detailed instructions. The kitchen has everything you'd need!

We loved our stay at the casita. It was comfortable, squeaky clean, and peaceful. Shawna is an incredible host. Friendly and responds quickly. She helped us coordinate a sunset sail and it was a highlight of the trip for our family of four. We enjoyed the pool on the hot days and the front patio to enjoy the sounds and sights while sipping our morning coffee. It is walkable to the beach, restaurants and surf shops in Palm Beach Estates. We highly recommend booking this place!

Location was perfect for us. Second trip to PBE so we already knew a lot about the area. The casitas are well laid out with lots of well established foliage to provide privacy. The community pool was shaded in the afternoon which was ideal. It was really fun to meet the other guests in the other casitas. My only regret is that I’m not still there!!

A quiet getaway for my family and I. The casita is spacious, with a large living room and big bedrooms. My husband and I stayed with our 16-month old and found it pretty baby friendly (maybe compared to other places we stayed in CR). The bed was quite comfortable; we slept great! We loved being able to walk right out to the pool to cool off and watch all the birds in the garden. Another plus is that it's walking distance to a few restaurants, the market, and the beach, and we took advantage of that! Overall, it was a great place to stay.
