Chivor Lakehouse
Located just three hours by car from Bogotá, Chivor is home to a reservoir surrounded by waterfalls, lush tropical vegetation, and the secluded CHIVOR LAKEHOUSE. Set in Colombia’s Andean region of Boyacá, the property offers an ideal escape for enjoying nature and a wide range of water sports, including kitesurfing, windsurfing, water skiing, kayaking, and paddleboarding.
The property offers five-star accommodations and high-speed Starlink internet, all surrounded by nature.
The Space
The house occupies one of the best locations on the reservoir, with exceptional lake views. The main house, Tres Marias, has three bedrooms:
- Two ground-floor bedrooms:
- One with a queen-size bed and a private full bathroom.
- One with two single beds and a full bathroom.
- An impressive upstairs master bedroom of approximately 50 square meters, furnished with a king-size bed and two single beds.
The master bedroom overlooks the lake and is semi-open on the lake-facing side, allowing you to enjoy the surrounding natural scenery.
If your group exceeds the nine-person capacity of Tres Marias, the adjacent Guest House can be added to the reservation. It accommodates up to six additional guests.
The property sits on a 60,000-square-meter estate surrounded by tropical forest. The grounds are home to lush vegetation, wildlife, mountains, and views of the lake.
At an elevation of 1,200 meters above sea level, the property enjoys a pleasant climate, with sunny, warm days and cool nights.
Gather with friends and family for a barbecue beneath the spacious covered porch while watching the sunset. The fully equipped and comfortably furnished living areas also offer spectacular views of the lake.
Guest Access
There are two ways to reach the property.
- Drive to the port and leave your vehicle in a guarded parking lot. We will pick you up there in our private boats at no additional cost. The boat ride takes approximately three minutes, and this option is suitable for any type of vehicle.
- Drive directly to the house. This route adds approximately one and a half hours to the journey and requires a four-wheel-drive vehicle because it follows an unpaved road around the lake.

The following activities are recommended during your stay overlooking the La Esmeralda Reservoir.
Boat Trip to the Waterfalls
The area’s main attraction is a boat tour of more than 10 spectacular waterfalls cascading from the mountains into the reservoir. The tour lasts approximately one hour, although it can be extended upon request.

A beautiful, secluded, safe, very nice and quiet place. We loved the house and the kindness of Mauricio and Gustavo and everyone in the house. We spent a few spectacular days in great comfort with a beautiful view.

It's a wonderful place that allows you to disconnect from reality and connect with nature and water sports; the house is very well located with a unique view, it's fully equipped, and the internet is perfect. In addition, communication was quick and clear; however, the place is very untidy, things are in poor condition and dirty, for example, the curtains, furniture, bathrooms, and walls are stained and damaged... a lot of dust and strong odors, especially in the back cabin. It just needs a little love.

An amazing place near Bogotá, where you can enjoy all kinds of water sports just a few meters from the accommodation, with the support of the owner. The people in charge of the place were amazing at all times; they were always ready to provide us with the best experience possible. Gustavo helped us with everything we asked of him and was an amazing co-host. We recommend trying the water sports. Very fun and reasonably priced
