The Space

Book Villa Amistad exclusively, and the entire hillside villa in Puerto Vallarta’s El Cerro neighborhood is yours. The property includes:

• Six king bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom
• Four apartments across two floors
• More than 4,000 square feet (372 square meters) of indoor space
• Two full kitchens and two kitchenettes
• A heated saltwater pool
• Two terraces with views of Banderas Bay
• Full daily housekeeping from Monday through Saturday
• Capacity for up to 12 guests

From December through March, humpback whales are often visible offshore.

Every apartment at Villa Amistad is named after a friend who helped bring the villa to life. Amistad means friendship, and that spirit is central to the property. When you reserve the entire villa, all four apartments and every shared space are exclusively yours.

The villa spans two floors and is designed for groups who want to spend time together while still having room to relax. Each of the six bedrooms features:

• A king bed with luxury linens
• A private ensuite bathroom with a rainfall shower
• Air conditioning
• A ceiling fan

Two full kitchens and two kitchenettes make group meals and private-chef service convenient. The top floor opens through sliding glass walls onto two ocean-facing terraces, including one with a private hammock. The main level has a separate poolside terrace and a balcony overlooking the cobblestone alley.

Glass doors and open breezeways bring the outdoors into the villa. The design is authentically Mexican and handcrafted, with warm terracotta tones, Parota wood, artisan pottery, and an original stone wall that continues into one of the showers. A hand-hewn beam ceiling is lined with handmade terracotta tiles, including one tile bearing a dog’s paw print pressed into the clay.

Fast fiber Wi-Fi, with speeds of up to 1 Gbps and a backup line, keeps the entire group connected.

Pool and Shared Amenities

When the entire villa is reserved, the heated saltwater pool is exclusively yours. It is open 24 hours a day and maintained at approximately 29–30°C (85–86°F) during winter, with views over Banderas Bay.

Your group also has private use of both terraces, including the lower terrace, which features:

• A table seating nine
• An honor bar
• A barbecue grill

Filtered drinking water flows directly from the taps throughout the property. The kitchens are stocked with coffee from the Chiapas region for the duration of your stay.

Full daily housekeeping is provided Monday through Saturday. Linen and towel changes follow a set schedule, with additional changes available upon request. Further details are included in the Guest Stay Agreement and guidebook.

Staying Together

Villa Amistad is a private home rather than a compound or hotel. Gather for coffee on the terrace at sunrise, relax by the pool in the afternoon, grill dinner as the sun sets, and finish the evening around the nine-seat table. When you want privacy, each bedroom provides a separate retreat with its own bathroom.

Digital Guidebook and Villa Extras

After booking, you will be invited to Villa Amistad’s digital guidebook. After answering a few questions to help us prepare for your visit, you will receive access to:

• Complete check-in instructions
• A detailed villa guide
• Local recommendations for Puerto Vallarta
• Villa Extras for managing practical aspects of your stay

Through Villa Extras, you can request or arrange:

• Airport transportation
• A private chef
• Grocery delivery
• Priority early check-in
• Late check-out
• In-house massages from vetted providers
• Payment of your honor bar tab

Guest Access

Your group has exclusive use of floors 2 and 3, including:

• All four apartments
• The heated saltwater pool
• Both terraces
• The honor bar
• The barbecue grill

The entry level, floor 1, contains the owners’ private apartment and the villa office. John’s private apartment is located on the rooftop level above.

You may pull up to the entrance to unload luggage.

Arrival and Security

You will have keyless entry with personal access codes. Keys are also provided in the sliding-door locks of the two apartments that use them.

For security and safety, the property has:

• A video doorbell at the entrance
• Smoke detectors throughout the villa
• Carbon monoxide detectors throughout the villa
• Fire extinguishers

Stairs and Parking

There are 17 steps from the street to the gate, followed by interior staircases between the villa’s levels, including a spiral staircase leading to the top-floor studio. Shaded areas along the way provide places to pause and enjoy the view.

Parking is not available in the alleyway. Free street parking can be found on adjacent streets a short walk away.

Check-In

Standard check-in is at 4:00 PM. The villa can often be prepared for complimentary early check-in at 3:00 PM.

Earlier check-in and later check-out may be requested through the guidebook for a small fee.

Before Arrival

After booking, you will receive a check-in form that includes a copy of the Guest Stay Agreement. The agreement must be digitally signed before arrival.

Once it has been signed, your guidebook will unlock with complete check-in information and your entry codes.

A $35 USD Damage Waiver is included with your booking and covers accidental damage up to $500 USD. Details are provided in the Guest Stay Agreement.

Important Information

• The entire property is smoke-free.
• Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
• Parties and events are not permitted.
• The villa is reserved for registered guests.
• Couples, families, groups, and LGBTQ+ travelers are all welcome.
• The villa is not childproof. It has an unfenced pool, open staircases, low railings, and breakable artwork.
• If you are traveling with young children, contact us so we can help you determine whether the villa is suitable.

The guest count includes everyone of any age, including infants. All guests must sleep in the beds provided. If you are traveling with an infant aged two or under, one infant may be accommodated above the apartment’s stated limit when you bring a travel crib. This policy helps protect the safety and comfort of everyone staying at the villa.
