The Space

This private two-story teak cabin is nestled in the woods on a one-hectare lot abundant with wildlife and forest. It is located 450 meters from the main dirt road leading to Tamarindo Beach and Santa Cruz town, both approximately 15 minutes away.

The cabin includes:

• Bedroom 1: bunk bed with a queen bed on the bottom and a twin bed on top
• Bedroom 2: twin-size bed
• Detached twin mattress available
• Two hammocks on the property

The sleeping arrangements accommodate:

• 2 people choosing either bedroom
• 3-4 people sharing the bottom room
• 5-6 people using both bedrooms

Guests have access to the entire first floor, which features a porch, kitchen/dining room, bedroom, and bathroom.

Wildlife and Nature

Monkeys occasionally pass through the trees directly in front of the cabin. Other wildlife you might encounter includes armadillos, coatimundis, hummingbirds, deer, and ocelots. The closest neighbor is over 200 meters away, so the primary sounds you will hear are those of nature.

To minimize insect intrusion, it is recommended to keep the mesh doors closed, especially if bugs are bothersome. Leaving doors open for extended periods may allow flying insects inside.

Guest Access and Security

When the host is present, they can escort you inside. If the host is away, a lockbox at the gate contains the keys. Please always return the keys to the lockbox after use. Failure to properly secure the lockbox may result in a $70 charge for replacement.

The cabin door is also secured with an entry code.

Walking Trail and Guided Tours

Guests can use a walking trail that follows a dry riverbed, approximately 1 kilometer long, reaching near the mountain summit.

• Entrance fee: 10,000 colones for the first person
• Additional guests: 5,000 colones per person
• Guided tour available for an extra 10,000 colones, with the host as your guide

Amenities and Services

• Internet: Starlink satellite internet is available; however, connectivity may be unreliable during overcast weather.
• Washer and dryer: The first load is free. Subsequent loads cost 5,000 colones (approximately $5) each. Guests earn one free wash/dry for every three nights stayed.
• The dryer is located in the host’s house about 20 meters from the cabin. Guests may dry clothes themselves or request assistance.

Additional Information

• The cabin is accessed via a dirt road, suitable for all vehicle types.
• During the rainy season, heavy rain may cause flooding at the entrance. In such cases, an SUV is recommended due to high water levels; low-clearance vehicles may have difficulty.
• The host lives nearby (about 20 meters away) and is available for contact at any time.
