The Space
Welcome to Casa Komorebi, a Japanese-inspired retreat nestled along Costa Rica's captivating southern Pacific coast. Warm tropical sunlight filters through the lush jungle, casting shifting shadows across the forest floor.
The villa features suspended bedrooms that appear to float above the jungle canopy, along with an infinity pool that creates the sensation of being surrounded by the landscape. Overlooking Marino Ballena National Park, the property offers exceptional views of the famous Whale's Tail reef during low tide.
Inspired by Japan, the villa was completed at the end of 2024 by one of the region's most forward-thinking architects. It was meticulously furnished by one of Costa Rica's leading interior design companies, and everything inside—from the bed linens and pillows to the kitchen cutlery—is brand new.
Guests will find intricate local woodwork and artwork throughout the home, along with high-quality, exceptionally comfortable furniture. The overall design is clean, refined, and welcoming, with expansive jungle-to-sea views.
Bedrooms
Casa Komorebi has three bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, an outdoor deck, and a security safe.
- The two master bedrooms each feature a king bed, full ocean views, and a walk-in closet.
- The third bedroom overlooks the jungle canopy and offers excellent opportunities for viewing greenery and wildlife. It includes two queen beds and two single beds in a bunk-style arrangement, as well as a walk-in closet.
The villa accommodates up to 10 guests. Children must be at least 5 years old to stay at the property.
Outdoor Areas
A private Zen deck includes a loveseat, hanging chairs, and ample space for yoga, meditation, or exercise.
Walkways made from fine Central American hardwood connect the elevated bedrooms to the living area and infinity pool deck. At the center of the property is a sun-filled outdoor garden.
The covered infinity pool deck is an inviting place to relax while taking in views toward Cano Island. A 10-person outdoor dining table and several pool loungers provide space and comfort for everyone. The new barbecue makes outdoor meals easy to enjoy.
The surrounding area is also ideal for wildlife viewing. Guests may see howler and white-faced monkeys in the trees, along with toucans, parrots, and scarlet macaws overhead. With binoculars, it may even be possible to spot humpback whales in the distance during their seasonal migrations.
Living Area and Kitchen
The indoor living area and kitchen feature handcrafted furniture and distinctive artwork. Unlike many rental homes in the region, Casa Komorebi also has air conditioning in the common areas, in addition to the bedrooms.

The property is located near the town of Uvita. A 4x4 vehicle is required to access the grounds.

We travel often and almost always choose Airbnbs over hotels because we love the privacy. Casa Komorebi is, without question, the best Airbnb we've ever stayed in. The home was immaculate, beautifully designed, and the views are even more incredible than the photos. The beds were unbelievably comfortable, the jungle-style shower was unforgettable, and every detail was thoughtfully considered. Jonathan, the concierge, was outstanding. He helped arrange everything from ATV rentals to an amazing private chef and in-home massages, and was always available when we needed him. Unlike most Airbnbs, the house was generously stocked with essentials, so we never felt like we were rationing supplies. I honestly have zero complaints. If you're considering this property, stop thinking about it and book it. You won't regret it.

Truly remarkable property that is somehow even more incredible than the pictures convey. We loved our week here and will be back as soon as we can. The house is stunning in design, spotlessly clean, and the view is one of the best you’ll ever see. The amenities are excellent and the host was very helpful, communicative, and kind. Book with confidence (just not the weeks that I want to book! ;))

Our stay was truly amazing, communication with YouGetHere was seamless. The property is absolutely gorgeous it melds into the jungle as if it received permission. The view is captivating with the whales tail reef formation before you. The drive is fun for 4x4 enthusiasts as well as myself and the teenagers. There is a peace within.

The most amazing place we’ve ever rented. The design is so perfect. You have serene places for privacy and lots of options for gathering together inside or outside. Even more spacious than the pictures. The pool was great and we saw toucans, giant red macaws (parrots) and capuchin monkeys from the property. It has an excellent view of the Whale tail beach that you can’t capture in a photograph. The drive is intimidating on your first time up because it’s steep and bumpy but once you get used to it …it’s fun! The reward is at the top. Great restaurants are just at the bottom of the hill. 15min away

The home is amazing. We are definitely going to book again. Absolutely lived up to the pictures and our expectations. So incredibly clean. Sunrise and sunset is magical. We saw tons of wildlife at the house. The home and neighborhood felt very safe. It is a gated home in a gated neighborhood. We never felt nervous. Jonathan was amazing…so helpful and gave great suggestions on restaurants and activities. It was an amazing trip.
