Can't say enough nice things about Villa Espavel. We loved the setup of this unit and please be aware it is intimate. The AC is a nice option to cool the bedroom but we loved the overhead fans especially in the outdoor kitchen for keeping heat and insects at bay. Lovely shaded areas private and shared with native and verdant plants, beautiful community pool that we sat with our feet in and chatted at night, romantic lighting throughout and QUIET (we were blessed with fellow guests who seemed to want the same experience). Every day was a joy sleeping in late and shoving off on foot to a soda for breakfast and the beach. No daily cleaning, laundry (dryer) is available at a small cost, and the expectation is that you sort and take care of your own trash/compost in their own well marked facilities in the back... which we dug ALL of it in the interest of maintaining this gorgeous place. Thank you!

The staff were extremely responsive, kind, and attentive throughout our stay. We had an issue with another place we were staying and needed to move in on very short nice. They went out of their way to confirm our reservation right away and make it move-in ready with almost no notice. It was clean and comfortable, the pool was great, as was the outdoor kitchen with the fan. It was easy walking distance to town and the beach, but nice that it was just far enough out of the main area to be quiet and comfortable. They had a nice shared space with little swings overlooking the nearby river. Shortish walk to everything you need including nearby grocery stores (Iguana Verde, our favorite), Samara and Cangrejal beaches, and good restaurants (highly recommend La Perla).

Roman was very proactive, sent me detailed instructions on how to find his place in case my gps couldn’t find it. He gave me name and phone number of contact person in case I have issues. The place was very clean, lots of towels, there was a binder with local recommendations and detailed instructions on how to get there. The pool was very nice and clean. The staff in the compound were all very pleasant and helpful and go out of their way to ensure my stay was comfortable and I have everything I need. The Villa is walkable distance to the main part of town and to the beach. There are def lots of mosquitoes because it’s a tropical place so make sure you bring bug spray or wear thin long pants or thin skirt while in the outdoor kitchen. I would def stay here again during my next trip to Samara. Thank you so much for making my stay a very enjoyable and memorable one.
