Overview

Completed in early 2019, this oceanfront villa was thoughtfully designed to showcase breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea and the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second largest barrier reef in the world. Añoranza provides guests with two bedrooms featuring king-size beds and en suite bathrooms, plus an additional full bathroom adjacent to the open living room and kitchen area.

Guests can enjoy seamless indoor/outdoor living by stepping from the living room onto the infinity pool deck and outdoor kitchen.

The Space

Añoranza is an eco-luxury private vacation home spread over three levels, each crafted to maximize privacy and panoramic views. Every room, including the showers, offers stunning vistas of the reef and the vibrant blue waters surrounding it.

The villa includes:

• Two bedrooms with king beds and en suite bathrooms
• A third full bathroom accessible from the living area
• Open-concept, air-conditioned living room and kitchen
• Infinity pool and outdoor kitchen area
• Fiber optic internet for remote work and video calls
• Full-size kitchen appliances and a private well with UV filtration and reverse osmosis for safe drinking water

The villa encourages an authentic Caribbean island experience. Guests are advised to pack casual beachwear such as swimsuits, cover-ups, rash guards, and flip-flops, rather than designer clothing or accessories.

There are two suites on the second floor overlooking the reef and the town of Punta Gorda to the west.

Location and Surroundings

Añoranza is situated on the east side of Roatán, offering a tranquil Caribbean island atmosphere rather than a nightlife scene. There are no restaurants within walking distance, but guests can kayak to nearby dining spots or drive five minutes to the villages of Oakridge or Punta Gorda for authentic Caribbean cuisine.

For those preferring to stay onsite, the villa has a fully equipped kitchen, and private chef services are available.

Sustainability and Guest Guidelines

The villa prioritizes energy efficiency and water conservation. Guests are asked to:

• Use air conditioning only when inside rooms with doors closed
• Turn off lights and fans when not in use
• Conserve water, as it is sourced from a private well and is limited on the island

Electricity usage is included in the rental cost, which is uncommon on Roatán.

Linens and towels are changed weekly for stays longer than seven days, with cleaning services provided accordingly.

Please note that the property has many stairs, making it unsuitable for guests with mobility challenges.

About the Name

Añoranza means "longing" in Spanish. For the owners, it symbolizes the end of yearning—encouraging guests to stop longing for a vacation, time with loved ones, new adventures, and memorable experiences, and instead to make those moments a reality.
