The Space

Townhouse #9 is a comfortable two-story home with two bedrooms and more than 1,500 square feet of living space. Set between two neighborhoods within the Hacienda Iguana beach and golf course community, it is a picturesque walk from the beach and only a few minutes from restaurants and shops.

The base rate covers up to four guests. An additional fee of $15 per night applies to each extra guest, with a maximum occupancy of six people.

• A dining-room porch overlooking the golf course, furnished with rocking chairs and a fan
• A master bedroom balcony with hammock chairs for relaxing in the evening

Guests can also enjoy the shared pool, located just steps from the property.

The first floor has an open-concept layout, with the kitchen flowing into the living and dining areas. A convenient half bathroom is also located downstairs.

• The second bedroom includes one queen-size bed and two single beds in a trundle-bed configuration.

The home accommodates up to six guests. Air-conditioning units are available in both bedrooms and downstairs. When the doors and windows are open, the townhouse also benefits from a refreshing cross breeze.

Laundry

The housekeeping staff handles laundry because they are the only people with access to the washer and dryer in the home.

• One complimentary laundry service is included for stays of 3–7 nights.
• Additional laundry requests cost $10 per load.

Important Information

Occasional power outages are common in this area. The home does not have a backup power source, so guests are encouraged to limit opening and closing the refrigerator during an outage to help preserve chilled items.

If internet access is required during an outage, contact your reservations agent or concierge for recommendations on local places with connectivity.

Hacienda Iguana is known for its world-class surf breaks. Four breaks are within walking distance:

Food Supplies

La Colonia in Rivas is the best place to purchase groceries. It is located 100 meters south of the turnoff for Tola, on the right, or west, side of the road.

While in Rivas, guests should also refuel, as the city has the closest gas stations to the property.

It is highly recommended that guests purchase all, or as many as possible, of the groceries needed for their stay. For those who prefer not to plan, shop, and prepare meals, ask about the meal plan and full-service catering option.

Several dining options are available within the Hacienda Iguana development.

• Pili’s Kitchen: The development’s only beachfront dining option, located at the Beach Club in front of the Colorado Break. It serves fresh food, juices, smoothies, and a full bar.
• The Salty Koala: Located in La Joya next to the Eco Casitas, offering Asian cuisine and craft cocktails.
• Casa Ananas: Located above the office, serving authentic Italian cuisine, pizza, and nightly international specials.
• Downtown Iguana: Located next to the office and surf shop, offering seafood and authentic Nicaraguan cuisine at reasonable prices.
• Scoops and Spokes: Located across the street, serving homemade ice cream, coffee, baked goods, paninis, and fresh juices.
• Iguana Brewery: Located a few doors away, offering sports-bar fare and local craft beer.

Getting Around

The property is approximately a 2–2.5-hour drive from Augusto C. Sandino International Airport in Managua and about four hours from Liberia Airport in Costa Rica.

Most major car rental agencies operate at the Managua airport, and advance reservations are recommended.

A four-wheel-drive vehicle is generally only necessary for guests planning to visit beaches farther south, particularly around San Juan del Sur. Guests who prefer not to rent a vehicle can arrange airport transportation, daily sightseeing trips, and guided surf excursions.

Motorcycle and scooter rentals are available, and vehicle and boat transportation to other surf breaks in the area can also be arranged. Alamo and National have a rental office next to Hacienda Iguana.
