Jade and George are attentive and friendly hosts. The apartment/house is well-laid out for its size and the main bedroom is well-positioned to minimize street noise. The only issue with the house itself is the small kitchen sink. The neighborhood issues are beyond the host's control and include street noises and frequent power outages.

It was very nice, with the open feel and the plants and trees outsude the front door

I'm disabled in a wheelchair. I'm in Costa Rica for surgery. The host Lish was nice in the beginning but after I checked in and reported all the issues with the apartment she became rude and aggressive. The day I checked in I told her husband Jorge that the refrigerator smelled really bad. He denied it and said it was because the refrigerator had not been used in a while. After I insisted he told me he would be back to fix the problem. He never came back. My groceries and antibiotics all went bad because the fridge never worked. The place is infested with bedbugs, ants, and roaches. I was suppose to be there for 3 Months but I checked out after 3 days. I gave the host plenty of time to fix all the problems but after she told me that she didn't care and that it wasn't her problem that I was disabled I decided to file a complaint with Airbnb and check out. The worst experience and place I have ever had with any kind of rental. Thank God that Airbnb helped me right away with everything.

We loved our stay here. Lish was so accommodating of our late arrival in to SJ. We will definitely stay here again.

I enjoyed my stay at this bnb… we stayed for 3 weeks… there was only 1 issue and that was the fridge, which I knew about before hand from previous reviews and from host upon arrival. Everything else was just lovely! The host was very flexible and communicative, open to friendly conversation. My daughter and I felt VERY safe. It was a bit noisy for work 😅 (traffic from the street) but I had a noise cancelling headset so my clients didn’t hear a thing 😉 Will be back!!!

The best part of my time at this Airbnb was connecting with Don Jorge. He had a lot of interesting things to share about Costa Rican history and special spots around town. Don Jorge was kind enough to personally bring me to the local grocery store as well as some great cafes and restaurants. The unit itself had a nice mix of modern touches, natural features and vintage charm. The internet is incredibly fast and the unit has a true office with multiple desks and a dedicated office chair for working online. One thing that visitors staying for more than a few days should consider is that this neighborhood is affected by weekly water rationing. So you may have to go one or two days per week without water between the hours of 8am and 4pm. I wasn’t aware of this water rationing until my second day in the unit, but it didn’t bother me. Besides this surprise with the water, the unit was excellent & I felt very lucky to meet Don Jorge during my travels!

Lish and Jorge's kindness is exceptional. They were very attentive to responding to messages quickly and accessing occupancy on time. The place is very comfortable, wider than what is seen in the photographs, you can see that they take good care of it. There are always details to correct, but normal, like any home, are details that are corrected little by little, so it's not worth mentioning any specific ones. The place is cozy. Desamparados is very well located with respect to San José, both downtown, west or eastern area, very easy access thanks to the proximity with a southern ring road. Also, near the accommodation there are bars, restaurants, supermarkets, shops and we definitely never needed to drive more than 10 minutes to get anything we needed. The place has a safe park on premises. I recommend it for couples or small Families and people who want to work remotely.
