The Space

Villa Dos Jaguares offers a unique Mayan healing experience in South Akumal Bay. This 5,000 square foot villa is located directly on the beach along the beautiful Mayan Riviera. It is perfect for families or large groups seeking a memorable villa stay.

Designed by California architect Tony Gonzales, the villa draws inspiration from ancient Mayan sites such as Palenque, Uxmal, and Chichen Itza. Its layout follows a metric grid to create mathematical harmony and balance. The villa features white and silver marble floors sourced from Durango, Mexico, custom Honduran mahogany cabinetry and furniture, and artwork showcasing famous Mayan and Olmec sites. Art deco glass blocks in ocean and sky colors are incorporated throughout, including tall columns at the entrance and beachfront.

One of the villa’s highlights is the upstairs area with Mayan arches inspired by the Palace at Palenque. These arches are illuminated at night, creating a special glow alongside the central courtyard with stylized steps and tropical landscaping.

The spacious upstairs master suite includes:

• Large bathroom with a soaking tub overlooking the ocean
• Open-air garden shower
• Oceanfront balcony with stunning views of the turquoise Caribbean

Downstairs, guests can relax under palapa hammocks in the tropical garden setting.

The upstairs guestroom offers a garden view, private bathroom, and a small outdoor deck ideal for watching sunsets. Another upstairs guest bedroom contains two twin beds and two futons.

Guest Access

Guests have exclusive access to the entire five-bedroom beachfront villa.

Additional Information

• Rigorous cleaning protocols are in place, including the use of Clorox and a disinfecting fogger (U.S. NSF Certification No. 148127) to ensure guest safety.
• A washer and dryer are available for staff use only. Guests may request laundry service from the maid for an additional fee.
• There is no dishwasher; the maid will handle dishwashing during her visits.
• Wi-Fi is fiber optic but provided by a third party; speed and connectivity cannot be guaranteed.
• Cook services and professional chef options are available at an extra charge with prior arrangement.
• A private nighttime security guard can be arranged for an additional fee, typically covering 7 pm to 7 am.
• Seasonal currents and weather patterns may cause seaweed accumulation on the beach.
