The Space
Monos y Mar offers a recently renovated two-bedroom apartment located on the building's top floor. This entire floor is exclusively yours, providing complete privacy. The apartment features a large terrace with both dining and seating areas that overlook the forest. On clear days, you might spot or hear howler monkeys in their natural habitat.
The apartment includes:
- Two bedrooms: one with a king-size bed and another with two single beds that can be joined together
- Air conditioning in both bedrooms for added comfort
- Ceiling and/or standing fans available throughout the space
- A fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, stove top, coffee maker, blender, and other appliances
- A bathroom with a warm water shower
The terrace offers plenty of open-air space where you can relax in the sun or shade. The bedrooms provide air conditioning for cooler comfort.

- Street parking is available nearby
Important Notes
As is common in Costa Rica, the plumbing system is delicate. Please do not flush toilet paper or hygiene products down the toilet. Use the trashcan provided for disposal.

it was a beautiful place for us, 2 adults and two children. the patio was excellent to enjoy the weather. walking distance to everything! the separate rooms was a plus!! lovely place

Der Zugang ist einfach und flexibel, die Schlafzimmer hatten eine gute Grösse und zum Glück eine Klimanlage. Die Kommunikation mit M-J hat jeweils super geklappt. Es hatte viele gute Lokale in Gehdistanz und der Strand ist toll. Was aus dem Inserst nicht ersichtlich war: - alle Räume sind nur über die offene Terasse erreichbar. Es gibt keinen gemeinsamen Innenraum. - die stark befahrene Strasse erzeugt ab ca. 05:30 bis ca 22:00 einen konstanten Lärmpegel

Lori and M-J’s is as described in the Airbnb listing. It is clean, comfortable, quiet and well decorated. The space has everything you need. The beds are very comfortable. The kitchen area is well equipment for meal preparation and food storage. The WiFi, air conditioning and hot water work well. The patio area is pleasant and tranquil. Shops, businesses, grocery stores, excellent restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, ATMs, beaches, parks, and touristic sites are within walking distance from the accommodation. Communication and checking in and out is easy. Mégane, the on-site co-host, was delightful, always available and eager to be of assistance. This was my fourth stay for a total of eight months at Monos y Mar. I highly recommend this accommodation.

The advantages of this location are the short walk to the beach and the wildlife in the trees about it. We observed a large male howler monkey in the tree over the residence. I’m told this is rare, usually the monkeys seen are small traveling along the power lines. There are large iguanas in the trees across the road observable from the deck area. The downside of this place is that the common area is outside. The other rental units are also open air, meaning you hear their full conversations and music as if you’re sitting with them. Of course, it’s hot - so if you want to sit as a group in AC you’ll have to gather in one of the bedrooms. The biggest drawback is the location on the main road. There is a reductor (speed bump) which leads to all the vehicles gunning their engines s as they pass. The cars aren’t so bad, the trucks and buses can be loud, but the motorbikes are insufferable. They are numerous, loud and travel all day. We left after one night for a quieter rental.

Very easy access to Samara beach & restaurants. Co-host Megane was very friendly & accommodating, even helped us with a mixup on our trip dates. We really enjoyed the large open patio, table & sitting areas on the deck and AC in the bedrooms was wonderful. Super comfy beds, great water pressure, convenient kitchen appliances. NOTE: We didn’t realize how LOUD the road out front is. Visually the setting is lovely, but with the almost constant motorcycle & big truck engine revving, it wasn’t as relaxing an atmosphere as we’d hoped for our beach vacation. Still, good price + very convenient location + helpful hosts are all worthy of a good review for the things within their control.

l'appartement etait parfait , vraiment bien situer . Megan ( la co-host) etait tres reactive a nos question et demandes . pour le prix c'est vraiment un deal a ne pas manquer . j'etait avec ma mere donc avoir deux gate qu'ont peut barer a clés avant d'entrer dans l'appartement nous a vraiment aidé nous sentir en securité. La terrasse est vraiment parfaite pour profiter de l'exterieur avec un bon souper . la cuisine est tres bien equipé pour cuisiné .

The accommodations were genuine to the owner and host. Megan was fabulous. Very willing to help in any way. There is street noise, however great people watching/action! Nice unique place. Will definitely stay again! Gracias!
