300 Year Old Colonial

The Space

300 Year Old Colonial is a charming Mexican home in the historic center of San Miguel de Allende, just two blocks from the Jardín, the city’s main square. The property includes a swimming pool and daily maid and cook service.

Although the home is arranged on a single level, there are steps from the pool patio and bedrooms to the outdoor living room, followed by a few additional steps to the living and dining area and library.

The house surrounds a traditional Mexican patio, with the swimming pool as its centerpiece. Covered walkways connect the rooms and circle the patio.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

• Three bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and fireplace:
  • One bedroom with a king-size bed
  • One bedroom with two twin beds
  • One bedroom with a queen-size bed
• Powder room located just off the patio

Living Areas

The impressive indoor living space features 16-foot ceilings and a large great room with living and dining areas and a fireplace. The great room opens into a spacious library with a partner’s desk, a sitting area, a television, and another fireplace.

Outside, a sala, or living room, includes a fireplace and opens onto an outdoor dining area in the central patio.

The well-equipped kitchen also has a breakfast table for casual meals.

Staff and Meals

The home is staffed by a maid six days a week and a part-time pool and garden attendant.

The maid can prepare either breakfast or lunch each day. Groceries are not included, but she can shop for the ingredients needed for each meal. Guests will be provided with receipts for reimbursement.

Guest Access

Guests have access to the entire home except for:

• The laundry room and maid’s bathroom
• A locked storage room
• The roof

The maid will do guests’ laundry, including ironing.

Additional Information

Pool Heating

The pool can be heated to 85°F for $30 USD per day. Heating may be arranged for the entire stay or selected days. Please request pool heating in advance if you would like the pool warm upon arrival.

Pets

One small dog is permitted for an additional fee of $25 USD per day. Guests are fully responsible for any damage caused by their pet.

Check-In and Check-Out

• Check-in: 3:00–5:30 p.m.
  • Luggage may be left in the entryway after noon.
• Check-out: 9:00 a.m.–noon
  • Luggage may be left in the entryway from noon to 3:00 p.m.

Late check-ins and early check-outs may be arranged for an additional fee of $20 USD.

Kitchen Pre-Stocking

For a fee of $35 USD, the staff can stock the kitchen in advance with drinks, snacks, and other items requested for your stay.

Firewood

The house is stocked with firewood. If you use it, a $25 USD charge will be added at the end of your stay. Additional firewood can be delivered for $25 USD per load.

Portable Crib

A portable playpen and crib combination is available for $35 USD total for the stay. Please request it in advance if needed.

Staff Gratuity and Taxes

A gratuity of 5% of the rental amount for the house staff is customary but not mandatory.

Local government regulations require a 4% tax on all hospitality rentals. This tax is included in the listing price.
