The Space

Villas Iguana A-8 is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom condominium located in the heart of the wave-rich Tola region. Positioned at the northern end of Playa Colorado, the property overlooks the ocean from its second-floor balcony.

A river and Los Perros Point are located to the north, while two quality surf breaks—Panga Drops and the Colorado beach break—are a short walk to the south.

The master bedroom features a king-size bed, while the guest bedroom has two single beds. Air conditioning is available in both bedrooms and the living area. Additional amenities include Apple TV, Wi-Fi, and a safe for valuables.

Cleaning service three days per week is included with the rental. An optional meal plan service is also available.

Laundry

Housekeeping staff handle all laundry because they are the only people with access to the washer and dryer in the home.

• One complimentary laundry service is included for stays of 3–7 nights.
• Additional laundry requests cost $10 per load.

Power Outages

Occasional power outages are common in this area. The property has a battery backup system that powers most outlets, including the refrigerator and internet, as well as ceiling fans and lights.

The backup system does not power:

• Air conditioning
• Microwave
• Water heaters
• Laundry machines

During an outage, please limit the use of electrical items to conserve battery life. The system typically lasts approximately 4–6 hours, depending on usage.

The home is located within the Hacienda Iguana development, which is known for its world-class surf breaks. Four surf breaks are within walking distance:

• Playa Colorado
• Panga Drops
• Los Perros
• Playa Amarillo, located south of Playa Colorado and accessible on foot at low tide

Hacienda Iguana also features a beautiful, well-designed nine-hole golf course that is carefully maintained and available to guests at an affordable rate.

We can arrange airport transfers and a variety of tours, activities, and excursions before or during your stay, including:

Food Supplies

La Colonia in Rivas is the best place to purchase groceries. It is located 100 meters south of the turnoff for Tola, on the right, or west, side of the road.

While in Rivas, it is also recommended that you refuel, as the gas stations there are the closest to the property. We strongly recommend purchasing all, or as many as possible, of the groceries needed for your stay.

Guests who prefer not to plan, shop, and prepare meals can ask about the meal plan, which provides full-service catering.

Dining

Several excellent dining options are available within the Hacienda Iguana development.

• Pili’s Kitchen: The most frequently visited and only beachfront dining option, located at the Beach Club in front of the Colorado Break. It serves fresh food, juices, smoothies, and a full bar.
• The Salty Koala: Located in La Joya next to the Eco Casitas, this restaurant serves Asian cuisine and craft cocktails.
• Casa Ananas: Located above the office, this restaurant offers authentic Italian cuisine, pizza, and rotating international specialty nights.
• Downtown Iguana: Located next to the office and surf shop, this restaurant serves seafood and authentic Nicaraguan cuisine at reasonable prices.
• Scoops and Spokes: Located across the street, this café serves homemade ice cream, coffee, baked goods, paninis, and fresh juices.
• Iguana Brewery: Located a few doors away, this venue offers sports bar food and local craft beer.

Getting Around

The property is approximately a 2–2.5-hour drive from Augusto C. Sandino International Airport in Managua and about four hours from Liberia Airport in Costa Rica.

Most major vehicle rental agencies operate at Managua Airport, and advance reservations are recommended.

A four-wheel-drive vehicle is generally only necessary for guests planning to visit beaches farther south, including those in the San Juan del Sur area. Guests who prefer not to rent a vehicle can arrange airport transportation, daily sightseeing trips, and guided surf excursions.

Motorcycle and scooter rentals are available. Vehicle and boat transportation to other surf breaks in the area can also be arranged.
