The Space
Casa Lapas is a luxurious retreat nestled on 1.5 private acres between the Pacific Ocean and a peaceful mangrove estuary in Playa Bandera, Costa Rica. Located just 150 meters from the beach, this sanctuary offers a unique blend of comfort and nature. The property is home to exotic wildlife, including scarlet macaws, monkeys, and occasional sloths.
The house features four bedrooms, each containing two Queen beds and private bathrooms with hot water. These bedrooms are situated in a separate building to ensure privacy. The fully equipped kitchen includes stainless steel appliances and a dining area that comfortably seats 16 guests.
Adjacent to the kitchen is an open-concept pool area, ideal for relaxation or entertaining. Although the pool slide is currently not operational due to recent upgrades, updates will be provided once it is fixed.

Location and Safety Notes
Casa Lapas is situated in a remote location without cellphone reception. However, reliable Wi-Fi is available through Starlink satellite, and a landline is provided for emergencies.
Wildlife such as monkeys, iguanas, and birds are commonly seen throughout the property. The mangrove area is accessible during the day with caretaker assistance but should be avoided at night due to the potential presence of crocodiles.
The on-site Rancho is currently under construction but will not affect your stay.

Excellent place, very clean, beautiful for spending time with the family, very well equipped kitchen with everything you need, the rooms are very large, the bar area was very good with its grill and clean bathroom, the host always responded very quickly and the people in the Damaris house were very friendly and very communicative at all times… 100% recommended place. I would choose it again for another vacation.

The place had clear instructions for access and expectations. The property manager onsite was great. She was helpful and informative. There was a ton of unique wildlife. A number of fruit trees to pick from and look at. We felt safe and had a great time.

The place is just as described in the photos and description. Damaris is super friendly and helpful. Everything was exceptional. We were a group of more than 10 people, and we had no complaints. We would gladly go back. The power went out at night, and there were even emergency lights and candles.

Our family had a great stay. Randall and Doña Damaris are responsive/helpful hosts. If you like the jungle and being near the beach, you won't be disappointed. The property is in partial transition (dilapidated pool slide in the process of being demolished) and the house could use a coat of paint and some tile repair. However, the A/C works well in every room and the kitchen/dining area was spacious enough for our group of 12. VERY close to public beach and other fun activities in Puntarenas.
