The Space
Casa Makasi is a freshly renovated, ocean-view luxury villa in Mal País / Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. Perched in the hills, the villa is approximately 5 minutes from the town crossroads and the beaches of Santa Teresa and Mal País.
Surrounded by lush jungle, wildlife, and cooling ocean breezes, the peaceful and private property offers modern comforts in a beautiful Costa Rican setting. The villa comfortably accommodates up to 8 guests.

The villa is approximately 4 minutes from town and close to white-sand beaches, world-class surf, restaurants, cafés, and everything the Santa Teresa area has to offer. Enjoy convenient access to the area while maintaining peace, privacy, and spectacular sunset views.
Housekeeping is included three times per week, except on Sundays and holidays.
Guest Access
Guests have full private access to the entire villa and pool area.
The discreet caretakers, a local family, live in a separate small studio near the parking area. They may occasionally be seen there but will fully respect your privacy.
Important Information
- Special low-season rates may be available for two guests or longer stays. Please contact the host for details.
- A strong sport utility vehicle or four-wheel-drive vehicle is necessary to reach the house. The access road is unpaved and can be somewhat steep.
- Please drive slowly and carefully on the road and around town. The speed limit is 25 km/h.
- A maximum of 8 guests is permitted at the house.
- The villa is surrounded by jungle and constructed with natural materials, including wooden doors and windows and Cana brava ceilings. It can be difficult to keep insects completely outside. Guests with a strong aversion to insects may prefer a different property.
- Fiber-optic internet with speeds of up to 200 Mbps is included, although the signal may not reach every corner of the house.
- Internet or power outages may occasionally occur, and storms can sometimes affect connection quality. The property is not responsible for internet-related issues or interruptions. A small generator is available to keep the internet running during short power outages.
- Cleaning is included three times per week, except on Sundays and holidays.
- The host can assist with arranging massages and activities.
- Parties and loud outdoor noise are not permitted. This is a quiet, peaceful area, so please be respectful after 9:00 p.m.
- Smoking is not permitted inside the house or on the terrace. Smoking is allowed only in the parking area. Please do not dispose of ashes or cigarette butts in the household trash, as this can cause the entire house to smell like an ashtray.
- Outside visitors and additional guests who have not been pre-approved by the owner are not permitted for safety reasons.
- Pets are not allowed unless specifically authorized in advance by the owner.

Lila was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. She went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed including a fun itenerary. Her property has amazing views from every room and was one of the highlights of our stay. We had an amazing time and would love to stay here again.

Our stay at “Casa Makasi” was simply fantastic! The hostess was incredibly kind and always helpful. The house itself is beautiful, very clean and furnished with a lot of love. The service was first class and the view – simply spectacular! The breathtaking sunsets in particular made our stay unforgettable. Absolute recommendation!

Gorgeous, quiet location higher up on the mountain which is conveniently away from all the dust. 2 adorable dogs visited us on a few occasions. Spacious rooms with air conditioning in each one. Highly recommended for families or small groups.

Would 1000% recommend Lila’s ocean view home to anyone visiting Santa Teresa. It’s an amazing feeling to wake up with coffee and an expansive ocean view. It was so peaceful and quiet there, yet if we needed to head to town we were a short drive to restaurants and shops, and best of all beaches. Lila was a great host who was very responsive to our needs. Thank you for an unforgettable stay…one of the best AirBnB’s out there

Gorgeous view from the back of the house that overlooks the ocean. We enjoyed the warm salt water pool and the sunsets are incredible! The house was clean, private and comfortable and had almost everything we needed. (We did not have paper towels, laundry detergent, or ice. There is also only 1 blow dryer just so you know. ) Be aware that you will need a 4-wheel drive vehicle to get up the steep dirt and rock road. The road was our only challenge, otherwise we cannot complain about a thing. There are beautiful birds and butterflies all over the property and there is a caretaker and his dog on the property who were both very friendly. The host, Lila, was very nice, responsive, and helpful. I would recommend staying here if you don’t mind the steep rough road getting up to the house… it is worth it.

Our stay at Lilla’s place in Costa Rica was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we booked, Lilla was extremely helpful and responsive—always quick to answer our questions and provide great local tips that made our trip even more special. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests having a great experience. The property itself was stunning, but what truly took our breath away was the view—honestly one of the best I’ve ever seen. Whether we were enjoying our morning coffee or winding down in the evening, the scenery never got old. It was peaceful, beautiful, and exactly what we needed to disconnect and recharge. Highly recommend this spot if you're visiting Costa Rica—you’ll be in great hands with Lilla, and the view alone is worth the trip!

We absolutely loved Lila’s place and would love to come back in the future. We already recommended to friends of ours with kids. The house is up on a hill and could be hard to get to without a 4x4 vehicle but the view of the ocean and peace and quiet being up above everything made it worth it. The drive to town was only 5 min. The house was beautiful and exactly as pictured. We loved having laundry available in the house, the place was spotless and cleaned every two days while we were there. Kid friendly with a crib and high chair provided. Lila was super helpful and responsive to questions.

This house has amazing views! It’s very peaceful and relaxing. The house is just as it looks in the photos. Excellent and communicative host. Friendly neighbors. Another benefit is the house is only 5 -10 minutes from the restaurants and beaches. Highly recommend!
