Important Information About Centro
Welcome to Centro—the real San Miguel. You have chosen to stay in the heart of San Miguel de Allende, where the vibrant atmosphere comes with both its magic and its noise. This is not unique to Casa Zaca; it is part of daily life in Centro and other neighborhoods throughout the city.
At any time, you may hear:
- Church bells ringing at 5:00 a.m. or throughout the night
- Fireworks late at night or early in the morning for various celebrations
- Parades passing directly outside the home, closing major streets and causing traffic delays
- The trash truck ringing its bells to announce its arrival
- The whistle of the knife-sharpening vendor making his rounds
- Construction taking place at any given moment
- Dogs barking or roosters crowing
San Miguel de Allende is a 400-year-old colonial town protected by the federal historic society to preserve its centuries-old character. As a result, the infrastructure has its own personality. You may encounter cobblestone streets and uneven sidewalks, intermittent power or water outages, occasional interruptions to internet or hot water service, rain-related water leaks, or a passing sewer odor.
These are all part of life in a historic city where things move at their own pace. Centro is vibrant, lively, unpredictable, and unapologetic. If you are a light sleeper who needs absolute silence or modern perfection, Centro may not be the right fit. However, if you embrace its imperfections and quirks, you can experience the authentic magic of San Miguel.

Our family loved our time at this AirBnb. The photos of the outdoor space don't do it justice - it was so dreamy to sit outside with the fireplace on and enjoy the evenings. The space was roomy, the kitchen fully equipped, plus nice king beds. We are already planning our return visit!

Surprised with the closeness yet quiet that this somewhat hidden location gave us. Super close to the center and some of the best restaurants etc. Great access in and out of the city as well based on location.

Casa Zaca is a beautifully designed and centrally located home. We spent 8 nights there and loved it! It's in the heart of Centro San Miguel de Allende -- a five minute walk to the Parroquía---and near loads of fabulous restaurants, bars and boutiques. The home is very luxurious yet comfortable. The housekeeper Sonia was excellent, funny and takes great care of the home. It shows. LRM was fantastic and quick responding whenever we needed anything- they also arranged drivers for us to and from Leon/Guanajuato airport. An overall excellent experience. Book this home if you are looking at it. You will be happy you did. Make sure you stop by Tené a block away for food and a cocktail or two. We made that our second living room and the staff there was incredible. Food excellent too...

Six of us stayed at this terrific LRM property - husband/wife, 18/19 yo daughters, grand friends. Property is as advertised and unlike many AirBnb’s outside of US, had well-appointed kitchen, large bathrooms and showers with ample space and plenty of hot water. The AC is not quite up to US standards but it is cool at night and with open windows all were comfortable. The house is steps, literally steps, away from everything. We used LRM for transportation to and from the airport, for 2 tours, and to arrange a private chef one evening. Everything was top notch. No regrets. Wish I was there now.

My mom and I had the best stay at this beautiful hacienda! Communication was always very prompt, the place was so beautiful and close to everything! Teresa’s home cooked breakfast was so delicious-highly recommend doing it at the beginning of your trip like we did! We were able to enjoy leftovers the rest of our days as the cook leaves all groceries used for the meal! The home is spotless, private and magical. I would definitely stay again!

Wow - the Casa Zaca is stunningly decorated and updated, and is very roomy. We were a party of 3 women staying at Casa Zaca and loved that we each had our own bedroom with a king-size bed and in-suite bathroom. The outside enclosed patio is also beautiful and colorful with greenery and flowering bougainvilleas. The kitchen is fully updated and stocked with dishes, glasses, cutlery, coffee, paper towels, dish washing detergent... we felt very safe as you go through basically 3 doors to get into the house. You exit the street to go down a small pretty alley to reach the house and go through 2 gates before the front door. One disclaimer is the house is advertised as air conditioned however the downstairs bedroom did not have a/c. This would only matter in May, maybe, as the evenings are cool and comfortable and the temperatures are moderate for most of the year. We would definitely return to stay there. The property management team is very responsive and helpful.

Casa Zaca was truly phenomenal. It exceeded our expectations. Beautiful decor, lots of space, thoughtful extras like puzzles and games - we loved our time there. We appreciated the multiple levels and the ability to all be together or to spread out in the different spaces. The staff that supported the house was fantastic. We hope to return again to this lovely space.

This house is everthing and more. It is visually stunning from the moment you enter the courtyard. An amazing outdoor living room with a gas fireplace and cushy furniture awaits. Gorgeous flowers are everywhere. The home is beautiful and super stylish. The kitchen had everything you could need. We had pre-ordered some groceries the first night as we got in late and they were waiting. The bedrooms are spacious with plenty of closet space. The beds are soooooo comfortable. Each room has it's own balcony overlooking the courtyard. If we had a question, we could just reach out to LRM and they quickly got back to us. It's a magical place, in a wonderful location, walkable to most everywhere. We loved it.

Exceptional. This wasn’t just a place to shower and sleep, it was a place we loved coming home to every day. The three incredibly spacious and beautiful master suites, each with its own bathroom and fireplace, gave everyone their own private luxury retreat. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the outdoor living spaces? Perfection -- a rooftop patio with a fire pit and plenty of seating, plus a cozy, covered main-level seating area (complete with fireplace) that we never wanted to leave. While there are many convenient places to stay in SMA, the location of this home really stood out. It’s in one of the flatter areas of town, there's plenty of nearby dining, drinking, and shopping, and a short walk gets you to the beautiful square (El Jardín). The house was comfortable, clean, quiet, spacious, and beautifully designed. We can’t say enough good things about it. And while we briefly considered staying forever, we’ll happily settle for repeat visits and already can’t wait to return.
