A magical place – the accommodation is breathtaking – the house surrounded by nature on a large property, the pool and the barbecue area... Our last days of relaxation in Costa Rica couldn't have been better. Arturo and Gerado were very helpful, and without Gerado, we wouldn't have discovered many animals on our nighttime tour through the garden.

This was a wonderful last destination during our Costa Rica trip. The building and surroundings were stunning and Arturo the host was extremely responsive and generous with his time, and helped organise a number of trips which were awesome. The kids loved the pool and my wife got to milk one of the cows which was on her bucket list! Although the hosts didn’t speak English we managed to get by using Google translate. In hindsight I would have hired a car as it was about a 20 minute drive from puerto jiminez where most of the restaurants are, however the hosts put us in touch with Filipe who was very knowledgeable, funny and provided a taxi service. We went on a hike through Corcovado National Park and a dolphin spotting boat trip, both of which we greatly enjoyed.

We had a fantastic stay at Villa Tapir at Amapola Lodge. Everything was basically exactly as described on Airbnb, which we really appreciated. The villa is spacious, comfortable and surrounded by beautiful tropical nature. We loved the peaceful setting, the pool and the feeling of being immersed in the jungle while still being only a short drive from Puerto Jiménez and the beach. But what really made our stay special was Gerardo, the onsite manager. He is absolutely the best! He is incredibly kind, helpful and seems to be able to do anything. When we got a flat tire, Gerardo immediately came to our rescue and even changed the tire for us. He also took the time to show us fresh tropical fruits and point out animals around the property. His genuine friendliness and willingness to help made us feel very welcome. Amapola Lodge is a wonderful place for anyone who wants to experience the beauty and tranquility of the Osa Peninsula. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful week in this beautiful rainforest paradise. It was a very beautiful property, with lots of wildlife that could be seen from the balcony and from the lovely, well-kept swimming pool. We also went on a couple of fantastic trips, both to Cocovardo and a wonderful dolphin tour where the dolphins jumped around the boat. Arturo's tropical cabin is completely unique and, precisely for that reason, a special experience. It was very hot and above the normal average temperatures, and since we are used to cooler weather in Denmark, it was sometimes too hot in the large open living room, even with the fans. But then we could cool off in the pool and in the nice room with air conditioning. You are close to nature, and that also means you will see a few lizards, etc., inside because of the open design. For us, it was just like the real experience, and we loved the place. The family who lived separately on the property was so kind and helpful, showed us many animals, brought us delicious fruit from the garden, and made the experience even more special.

A very interesting place with a lot of forest around and plenty of wildlife to see every day. Good location for visiting Drake Bay and taking a boat tour of the Golfo Dulce. The pool was impeccable.

The Amapola lodge is a treasure...the family that is on the property is what made it feel extra special. I won't spoil the sweet surprises but they provide an experience that is so heart felt and special. But rest assured it is extremely private - still, knowing there is a local person on the property in such a remote area like the OSA is actually very comforting and they are very very willing to share their knowledge. Be sure to bring a translator or practice your Spanish though if you want to chat. It is all part of the experience. The home is just like the pictures, rustic but very very clean. The sheets and pillows were very nice quality - and so was everything else. Cooking outside was so fun too! If you are willing to have a more immersed experience rather than your typical *all inclusive resort*, choose this stay and you will always remember and cherish it. Thank you Gerardo and your family and Arturo for making it all possible. We love the Osa Peninsula even more now :)
