The Space
Relax in comfort with stunning sunset views! Set in the tropical forest on the flanks of Volcano Madaras, this loft room is just steps away from Santa Cruz village.

- Queen bed with an orthopedic mattress

- Private bathroom located about 10 steps away in an adjacent building
- Access through the bottom floor and up the central staircase
The entire property is a lush tropical forest, abundant with plant and animal life. Guests may often encounter small, shy jungle animals, including birds, butterflies, bees, monkeys, frogs, toads, spiders, and small bats. The unique hexagonal design features a hand-woven thatch roof and cob-style walls, ensuring a cool atmosphere year-round.
Cleaning fees include daily bathroom cleaning and bed making, with full cleaning upon departure. If you need new sheets or towels, just ask, and we will be happy to assist.
For group trips, we have an additional two cabins and a room available, accommodating up to 12 people.
Guest Access
You will have access to all 12 acres of lush tropical dry forest and organic farmland. On our organic farm, you can admire the tropical dry forest critters, including birds, butterflies, and resident monkeys.

During Your Stay
We provide an activities list to guests upon check-in and are on-site to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We can assist with information on local tours, horse rides, and massages. Your host speaks English and Spanish, while the cleaning and maintenance staff only speak Spanish.
We can also arrange pizza delivery to your room if you prefer not to visit nearby restaurants.
Location
The room is beautifully situated and most suitable for those who plan to explore Ometepe. It is great for hikers who tend to be up early, as it is located near the breakfast/common area. You may hear people about 20 meters away starting as early as 7 AM, which allows you to easily join us for a farm-fresh breakfast (priced between $3 and $6).
Access
To access the Orchid loft room, you will need to carry your bags and climb stairs. The parking lot is located 250 meters away from the cabin.
The Key
The key is available on-site from 12 PM to 4 PM. Late check-ins must email in advance to arrange key pickup. While we live on the property, we go in and out throughout the day, so your communication regarding your arrival time is greatly appreciated.

We have a couple of friendly dogs on-site, making you feel right at home.
Insects
The property is a lush tropical forest, and guests may encounter small, shy jungle animals. None of these species are aggressive, toxic to humans, or otherwise dangerous. The only venomous animal on the island is the coral snake, which is timid and rarely seen. These creatures contribute to Ometepe's status as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, full of natural beauty and diversity.

We travelled with baby. Unfortunately, we were not able to book the family bungalow, although the booking was initially confirmed to us. We then stayed in the loft apartment. Not ideal with baby as the stairs are open and the toilet downstairs and outside the house. What is not mentioned clearly enough in the description is that the community area is right in front of the loft apartment and light is constantly burning across the house with the kitchen. This has hurt the seclusion and privacy. Otherwise, the place is great, very easy and the contact was nice and helpful.

Thanks to Miguel and the team. He looked after us very well and gave us a warm welcome. We received good recommendations for restaurant and tours. The permacultur system was very well explained to us. We liked breakfast too. Thank you.

We lovee staying here. The view of the volcano is amazing and there is such a peaceful vibe all around the house. We slept in a very comfy bed and it was not hot at all ! We had a very nice and warm welcome from Miguel who was helped us rent a cab to go back to the ferry ! I recommend it 100% !

This was the perfect place to rest and get work done with the view of the volcano and great energy of the island. The staff were incredibly helpful. I ended up extending my stay because I liked this place so much!

Finca del Sol is lovely. If you are an adventurer and will like to see some breathtaking views from the volcano, ask Pablo he fixed a great tour with Hector an awesome guide, do your best to support local! People in Ometepe are very generous and hospitable.

What a place ! Located on to my opinion the best place on the island, Santa Cruz, and very close to Balgue, hippy vibe jungle with very good restaurants around ! To access to the house, you walked 5 min trough the farm, a beautiful forest with huge trees and a few animals... Up in the room, we are at canope level, it feels like you live jn the trees ! Beautiful bird show from the balcony on the rocking chairs ! Very nice bathroom outside the room in a little cabana next door, with dry toilets ! Very well maintained. Pablo that welcomed us is a very sympathique host, speaks very well english and has a very charming smile :) There is a motorbike rental stall just outside the gate of the property and the boys are nice and have good prices, they can also arrange you a taxi :) very convenient ! Felt like we found one of the best airbnb on Ometepe ! Thanks !
