The Space
This charming and unique retreat is nestled in the rainforest along the Rio Cortezal. The downstairs room offers a beautiful view of the jungle garden and comes with air conditioning. It shares a bathroom, including a toilet and shower, with one other downstairs room.
Location
Wake up to the sounds of nature and spot toucans and scarlet macaws passing by. The property is just a short walk from the Uvita waterfall and nearby restaurants. It is also a brief drive from Marino Ballena Whale Tail National Park. Despite its secluded setting in nature, the location is accessible without the need for a 4x4 vehicle.

Guests have access to a shared kitchen stocked with all essential cooking supplies, along with coffee and tea. There is a new deck and extensive gardens to explore. A private path, shared only with other Osa de Rio guests, leads down to the river.

This is a great location for exploring the nearby waterfall, swimming hole, "restaurant row," Awake wellness events, and Quantum Cacao. One of my favorite parts was the creek on the property. I refreshed myself there every day. Shawna went the extra mile to make the stay comfortable by providing local recommendations and helping with favors when needed. She was very caring and attentive, and truly felt like a mom away from home.

The stay was fine, but the location in the app is not correct, we were lost because the location on the map indicates another place. We had a small technical problem with the car and asked the host for help since we are not from the area, however, the response was negative and curt. In the end we were able to solve it on our own. And finally, we received a last-minute room change, indicating that it was an upgrade since it had air conditioning, but the air did not work properly during the time we were in the room.

This was one of our top stays during our time in Costa Rica - the private river access views were incredible and made for a very peaceful morning coffee. The host was very helpful and even gave recommendations when we got a flat tire. Having access to the washer and dryer, board games, and just overall the beautiful and calming atmosphere the airbnb provides made it a wonderful stay for us. Would gladly return! If you’re car is lower to the ground, I would be a bit wary of this location. Driving to the place at nighttime for the first time was a bit nerve-racking but doable.

Shawnna is a great host and her AirBnB is fantastic. The surroundings are beautiful, the The kitchen and laundry room are great and general vibe is great. Note: the location is at the end of the road and getting in and out by foot isn't that convenient, if you have a car or motorcycle this place is great.

Good place to stay for a few days. Shawnna is a nice person and very helpful. We could even do the laundry late when we checked in. Room is very fine, bed is comfortable and kitchen is fully equipped. The place is near the river and waterfalls (walking distance). Little problem was the noise from other guests on the morning. They were loud with some music/television (phone on speaker) and early walking as elephants upstairs. Place should be very calm and peaceful if you’re lucky to have respectful guests during your stay.

The perfect place if you don’t have a car and want to be close to everything going on in uvita, super nice location, you have your own private access to the river. the host was super helpful and had the place incredibly clean and organized, thank you Shawna!!!
