The Space

Villa La Selva offers a private tropical retreat with a modern open-air shaded poolside lounge, perfect for enjoying seamless indoor-outdoor living. The heated jacuzzi flows into an infinity-edge pool, allowing you to relax both day and night.

The kitchen features clean, contemporary lines and opens to a beautiful wooden dining table, creating an inviting atmosphere for memorable meals. We highly recommend trying a catered dinner from Pura Vida Catering for a special experience.

All interior areas are air-conditioned with individual units, enabling personalized climate control throughout the villa.

The villa includes four bedrooms and accommodates up to 11 guests. Each bedroom is furnished with custom-made beds crafted from local wood, adding a unique style and ambiance.

Villa La Selva is situated within the exclusive gated community of Hacienda Pinilla’s Reserva de Golf, granting access to a wide range of exceptional amenities.

Guest Access

Exploring the 4,500-acre Hacienda Pinilla ranch is best done by golf cart, which offers a convenient way to spot wildlife and monkeys while traveling to the beach club, Marriott hotel, or other facilities.

Hacienda Pinilla Amenities

• Beaches:

  • Playa Avellanas: Beach club, world-class surfing, white sand
  • Playa Mansita & Bonita: Tidepool exploration
  • Playa Langosta: Excellent surfing, fishing, and white sand

• Beach Club:
  Guests enjoy access to the exclusive Hacienda Pinilla beach club through a corporate membership. Facilities include a beachfront infinity pool, tiki bar and restaurant, spa, soccer and volleyball courts, fitness center, and a lifeguarded beach at Playa Avellanas open from sunrise to sunset.
  There is a $10 entry fee per person, which is credited toward purchases at the bar and restaurant. Note that the beach club closes annually in October.

• JW Marriott Hotel:
  Located within Hacienda Pinilla, the JW Marriott offers multiple dining options accessible to villa guests. Day passes for pool and amenity use are also available for purchase.

• Golf Course:
  An 18-hole, par-72 beachfront golf course.

• Tennis Courts:
  Three hard courts with an onsite instructor.

• Horse Stables:
  Guided horseback tours are available throughout the ranch, customizable from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Rides traverse forest areas, secluded beaches, and river mouths within the property.

• Mountain Bike Trails:

  • Pro trails: 30 km across the ranch
  • Amateur trails: 15 km
    These trails are also suitable for hiking and exploring the expansive 4,500-acre area.

• Surfing:
  Hacienda Pinilla is an ideal base for a surf trip in Costa Rica. Playa Avellanas alone offers six different waves, plus private access to the beach breaks at Playa Langosta. Nearby, Playa Negra reef breaks are 10 minutes south, and Tamarindo’s river mouth and beach breaks are 10 minutes north.

Additional Services

We can arrange private chef services, massage therapy, spa treatments, tours, and more upon request. Golf carts, bicycles, tee times, and other bookings are handled separately after the rental agreement is finalized.

Important Notes

Villa La Selva is located in a private, gated community primarily inhabited by full-time residents and families. A very strict noise policy is enforced between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. to ensure a peaceful environment.

This property is not suitable for parties or large events. It is ideal for groups of adults and families who respect the community rules and neighbors. Guests planning to host noisy gatherings or large events should consider alternative accommodations, as violations may result in eviction without a refund.
