3BR Villa

There were 5 of us and we had a great time! The house had plenty of space and was well laid out. Location is everything and this place was perfect. Very short walk to the beach. Cafe Mar Azul was 3 doors down. We highly recommend the banana bread! Two other cafe/restaurants and a mini market were also within walking distance. We had our shuttle driver stop at a supermarket so we could pick up our main groceries before arriving. There's a surf school right next to the cafe. If you love crowds and nightlife, this isn't the place for you. The beach was not crowded and the neighborhood was safe, quiet and so peaceful. We loved the pool! The boogie boards were used every day! We had delicious fresh fish and fruit delivered to our front door! We had plenty of spices, pans & utensils to make several meals. Dirk was a great host and was very responsive whenever we had problems or questions. We would definitely recommend this place and would love to stay here again!

We stayed at Dirk's place with our children and grandchildren and had a great time. Dirk is an incredible host who responds to every question within minutes and seems to be able to organize almost everything, fresh seafood delivery on short notice on a Saturday afternoon, rental car quotes, fruit and vegetable delivery.... you name it, Dirk knows someone....

The house and the whole property are very spacious, and the location was perfect for us, a 2-minute walk gets you to the beach or a nice local restaurant (Cafe Mar Azul). We also used Uber to get to a bigger grocery store, never had to wait more than 5 minutes for them to show up und the prices were reasonable.

There were plenty of bath and beach towels and the 2 body-boards were a lot of fun in the surf.

House with a great location, very close to the beach, you can hear the howler monkeys in the morning. Dirk is very responsive and easy to reach. We arrived late in the evening, the house was clean. A bathroom was filled with ants, we wrote to Dirk and he gave us directions to remove them. The kitchen had everything you needed, beach chairs and games for the kids were available. All in all, we loved it very much.

This was our last place in CR and one of the best. The location so close to the beach was perfect! We spent so much time letting the waves crash over us. The available boogie boards were well used by us. Nearby surf lessons were a blast. Cafe Mar Azul a few doors down was a welcomed option for several meals. The WiFi worked well and be thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!

5 Stars – Unforgettable Beachside Retreat!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this beautiful home in Palm Beach Estates! Dirk was an exceptional host—always quick to respond and incredibly helpful throughout our visit.

The house is just steps from the beach, making it easy to enjoy the ocean anytime. We especially loved the outdoor grill area—it was perfect for cooking up the fresh red snapper we got from the local fish truck. So delicious!

The pool was a major highlight for our family. The colorful lights at night made it feel magical, and we spent many evenings playing Marco Polo with our girls—such great memories.

The property was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The neighborhood felt safe and peaceful, with great access to local spots and the beach just around the corner.

We can’t wait to come back and highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for a memorable beach getaway!

We had a great stay at Dirk’s place. The area is very relaxing. Four restaurants nearby and a small mini mart.

The house is right next to the entrance to the beach. The beach is spectacular. A few miles long, great surfing, wonderful sunsets, and not crowded compared to the beach at Tarmarindo. We stayed for two weeks. The first week we rented a car to do grocery shopping, etc. The second week we just relaxed using nearby restaurants and the beach. We enjoyed the pool when not at the beach. If you want to go to Tarmarindo it is about a 15 minute walk on the beach to the inlet that separates the two areas, you can then use the locals with their boats to cross. Cost $2 per person. Boats start at 8 and stop at 5.

Dirk is a great host. He helped us with renting the car, and was generous with his recommendations.

Great amenities. Dirk was extremely responsive and gave great recommendations on things to do and places to eat. The beach is directly across the street. There are several restaurants within walking distance and a market to grab last minute/forgotten items. Don't miss Cafe Mar Azul, the food is fantastic and inexpensive. There's a surf shack next door where you can rent surf boards and book excursions. Very safe area. The house was very roomy, clean, and comfortable. We'd book this location again if we vacation in Costa Rica again in a heartbeat.

Great stay! Grounds of the house are beautiful. Close to the beach and restaurants. Palm Beach Estates is a wonderful neighborhood to stay in. Very tranquil and semi isolated. Used Playa Grande Shuttle and Tours for transportation. Owner was very responsive.

Great location with plenty of space. Because it was shoulder season we spent a little more time in the house and used the kitchen more than we thought. Which was excellent! Grocery stores are reasonable and there is one in the neighborhood. However it is open limited hours in the "green season"...Would definitely recommend this location to anyone.

This house is right next to the beach, surrounded by beautiful plant and animal life, and within walking distance to three or more fantastic restaurants. This house is everything you’d want from a Costa Rican experience!

Me, my wife and our small child stayed at Dirk's place for 4 weeks in June. The walk to the beach was crazy short and the pool was wonderful.

Before our stay, it turned out that Dirk and us were in the same city and he met us and walked to his favorite car rental place and got us a screaming deal with no upsell from the rental company. That's just one example of how amazing a host he was.

Also, for that long of a stay, the A/C and the washing machine were so useful.

There is an amazing restaurant 3 doors down for eating out and Dirk hooked us up with the info to order delivery fresh fruit and fresh fish from the trucks that deliver to the local restaurants.

Great option! My husband and I came with a baby and two kids under age 6. Had lovely stay. The house location and amenities were perfect. We very much appreciated the hosting touches and communication was impeccable. Having a pool, outdoor shower, grill, outdoor eating area, game room, a bunch of beds, big bathrooms with tubs, and being steps from an amazing beach can’t be beat. Many great restaurants and bars close by, amazing sunsets and stars, and not far from a bunch of other things to do in the area if you don’t mind hopping in the car, walking a bit or taking the water taxi. The beach is perfect for both small kids and those looking for bigger waves due to the large tides and wide break. It was very hot but the house stays cool. The community feels safe and welcoming. Great great stay!

We were a family of up to six. The stay met expectations and more. The location was great. The weather was consistently hot and dry. Everyone enjoyed the beach and pool, especially the kids. The house was well kept. We depended on the kitchen, which needs an upgrade with a light over the stove, which in turns is in a dark area. Beds were comfortable including one in the pool room. The host was responsive, right away, with any requests and made suggestions. Some of these suggestions would be handy to have in the welcome information. The housekeeper (Gina) and gardener (Joel) were both very responsive to requests. We got around with transport vans for tours. The younger adults used a rental car to explore (be prepared forsome bumpy dirt roads). Tamarindo is also reachable by water taxi. We had one visit to a local medical clinic, which was spotless. The staff treated us well. We would highly recommend Casa Grande.

Dirk is a great host. He’s very attentive and dealt with our only problem (minor plumbing issue) immediately.

Gina is a wonderful housekeeper and Joel does a great job on maintenance.

The location of the house is perfect. Close to restaurants and the beach access.

Casa Grande is incredible and beyond our expectations! Perfect location and accommodations for our family. The charm of this home is unmatched in Playa Grande. The host, Dirk was proactive and responsive to all our questions and needs.

Had a great family vacation at Dirk's place. The host was super responsive and helpful. The location is unbeatable, just a few steps from beach access on the amazing Playa Grande and some local restaurants. The place is well maintained and the town and beach are the best.

Dirk's place is the ultimate spot for someone looking to relax and surf. Being a few feet from the beach entrance and having back yard access to a great pool and awesome game room made for a homey stay. The house was clean and exactly as described in the listing and the local neighborhood was great as well. Finally, having the ability to take a 10-15 min walk and then jump on the 1 min water taxi to Tamarindo meant that there was always something to do. Amazing home in an amazing area!

We would definitely recommend this place. The location is just perfect, no need for a car. Nearby restaurants were affordables and very good! The house is big and the backyard with the pool is perfect! The beach is 1 min walk from the house!

Dirk is a really good host, always available to answer our questions!! He provide us a baby playpen and highchair cause we were travelling with our 8 months old!

We didn’t rent a car, so we took a taxi to bring us to a bigger supermaket (cause Palm Beach Market feels more like a corner store. Really small and expensive)

There is officialy 2 closed bedroom, cause the third bedroom is the playroom (pool room with a high-the-bed and a single bed)

A/C is working very well and we felt very confortable in the house!

The fotos on airbnb did not do the house justice. 2 beautiful bathrooms attached to 2 lovely big bedrooms. The only drawback was that the third bedroom is a part of the pool room. However, we made it work just fine. The pooltable was wonderful to have and it is just a gorgeous full sized pool table....pool was essential for all of us. We were a group of 7 with 3 kids'

Beautiful house in the remote and peaceful surroundings of Playa Grande. Feels very secure. We really enjoyed the house, chilling next to the pool in the afternoons, grilling in the evenings. We have seen many animals nearby like congos across the street. The beach is right next door, you can just go to the beach for a dip and return to rest in the house. We had a great time there and would definitely recommend the place.

Location can’t be beat at Darins place. We saw howler monkeys right outside our door and the miles long beautiful beach was truly amazing. Having our own pool in the backyard was great too. Loved all the restaurants nearby and all the friendly people hear.

A house with a location is perfect, very close to the beach, restaurant and shop of Playa Grande, Darin and Troy were very friendly and efficient in everything. The house is very comfortable, it is well equipped, the pool is all new, and the pool place is great

Great Location 2 min walk from beach. Multiple restaurants within walking distance and Las Olas brewing right up the road. Pool gets shaded at 3:15 in the afternoon to give a break from the Sun. Beach is good for waves, long walking approach, and awesome people. We met many locals who were welcoming and fun!

This home and location is amazing! Every day we found a nearby Playa to snorkel and spearfish only to come home to relax by the pool or surf the super consistent break 150 yards away. Kitchen is well equipped with a fantastic gas grill poolside. Plenty of towels for both beach and bath. Full sized pool table made for some excellent evening entertainment! Outside shower was convenient and very private. We can’t say enough good things! Darin is very responsive and responded to our questions very quickly. Super friendly “wild” dogs call the property home and the neighborhood takes care of them. Made us miss our pups a bit less! Our family of 4 couldn’t ask for more.

The perfect place to have quality time for beach, surfing or in familly with the pool and the pool table. beside the constructions noise from the neigbourg that was present all day, i would recommend that house any time but now or the next weeks.

Family friendly, very good location, beach is beautiful and house is perfect!
